Yo man. Car sounds amazing. I have an 05 SRT-4 just a CAI and a mopar BOV. Im looking to get this exhaust setup along with the needswings DP. do you have a resonator on here or no? and im guessing the downpipe isnt catted also?

Nothing to do with Dodge running out of money... Fuel continues to trickle into the motor even when downshifting/decelerating, this is why there is a rumbling popping sound to the exhaust. This is not a problem by any means, it was made that way to give the car a more throaty sound, the stage 1 has a more pronounced sound to it, You can get a custom tune that will pretty much eliminate the downshifting popping noise.

The lack of mufflers because dodge ran out of money. I drive an SRT so i feel i can say this and not be flammed. All cars tend to pop but the mufflers do their job and muffle the pops...watch some vids of cobras with any aftermarket exhaust (borla stingers is my favorite) and you should hear some pops.

did you even read my comment before replying? I said the lack of mufflers causes the pops! That means no mufflers, with resonators in their place. Mufflers on most cars muffle the pops, ours have none so they pop. Lots of other cars with less restrictive or aftermarket mufflers allow you to hear the pops. I.E. cobras, vettes, gto's, rx-7's or what have you all pop. Do you see how you may have misread?

there is one resonator, the one that comes with the Mopar Exhaust setup. It's 3" needswings DP with teh Mopar Exhaust with the 2.25 restriction removed.

it isn't backfire. it is afterfire. it's extra fuel being dumped into the exhaust therefore "exploding" backfire comes out of the intake...learn your terminology.

Sounds great (better than my 03 GT Cruiser ;) ) but what I want to know is whats causing the popping when you did the exhaust shot at the end, that doesn't seem too healthy (not to mention mine doesn't even do that!)

Are the GT's Turbo'd? I'm not sure on that one. It's been explained to me by people who work at Dodge saying that the calibration on the CPU pushes extra gas so the motor doesn't go boom. That popping sound you hear is what they call "After Fire" it is the extra gas igniting when it touches the hot pipe of the exhaust.

I brought a Srt-4 a few weeks ago and let me tell you, this car sounds sweet out the box. I'm going to leave my exhaust stock. Fuck it, I'm going to leave my whole exterior stock but I already started upgraded what I have underneath the hood!
