Tom Cruise dominated the portrayal as Lestat De Lioncourt in Interview with the Vampire--Such an astonishing performance! As for the film--Queen of the Damned--IT WAS HORRIBLE! Stuart Townsend was pathetic as Lestat and so was the rest of the other cast! Stuart as Lestat was a great disappointment to Anne Rice's readers of the Vampire Chronicles. Bottom line: Tom Cruise was amazing as Lestat!
@Dank951 I have to disagree. I think Stuart did an amazing job as Lestat. Queen of the Damned is a very different film from Interview with the Vampire. Each film took place in a different time period, and Lestat changed with the times. Cruise was good as 17th century Lestat, but I could not picture him as a rock star. I think Stuart brough out that side of Lestat very well.
@carriesncreme Also , Cruise was Lestat through the eyes of Louis and thus often seemed cruel , manipulative and heartless while Stuart played the more sympathetic , conflicted albeit still vain Lestat of The Later Books !
@carriesncremeHe didn't change,he wore modern clothes but thats about it, his very line from the book is "We do not change, but become more what we are".18th centuary Lestat was a performer, 20th centuary Lestat was a peformer. The only difference is IWTV is Lestat through Louis eyes, which Cruise hit perfectly whilst still giving those between the line moments.Townsend is just awful, a pretty boy with nothing behind his eyes. Cruise is the one to beat, Townsend is the one to erase from memory.
@triggerhippie865 But if a vampire is unchanging, wouldn't be a good thing to have nothing behind your eyes? Isn't it possible that Ann Rice meant that their appearance dosen't change? How could a person live hundreds of years and not a least gain a little insight? While I appreciate your opinion, Stuart will always be the Lestat for me. Tom Cruise is weird and gives me the creeps. However, for the purpose of this video, I felt it would have been unjust not to include him since he was Lestat.
Por favor o Stuart não sei das quantas não chega nem ao pés do Tom,
Tom Cruise imortalizou o vampiro Lestat.
