  • Low bass is lacking.

  • @sfcougars45 We were blessed to have what we had. Hope you can find something of value in it despite our imperfections.

  • Great song great job guys

  • lindoooo

  • Very good, but it's a bit too slow for my liking. I just started learning this with my choir. It's freaking tough! I'm a tenor 2, and we just got through I think the 20th measure and I already love the song.

    You guys sound great

Now let's see how my choir does haha

  • Too amazing for words, truly one of the best performances to be posted, you all are amazing, cudos, I can't wait to sing this song b/c i saw this, thanks !! :)

  • You guys are *really good!* I like the arrangement too. =D

  • I love the Bass Two part :D It's my favorite part to sing.

  • Arranged by Ken Berg

  • The composer is Ken Berg.

  • I'm pretty sure Shaw composed this, did he not?

  • Beautiful! Im Singing this song this year in choir @ BHS.

  • Fantastic!!!!

  • Eliseaed, I'm pretty sure it's not a Hogan arrangement, although he wrote some GREAT stuff!

  • @sc0tlas it is Ken Berg in case you were wondering... my university is singing it this sem on our tour.

  • Moses Hogan

  • i too am sure he didn't arrange this cus i sing the one he arranged but if u find out who can u post there name

  • who arranged this piece?

  • GREAT JOB SOPRANOS!!!

I sang this song last year in one of my choruses, and we sounded great, but you guys have blown me away with this performance.

  • this is great

  • Awesome!!! One of my favorites, and they do a heck of a job, best I have heard yet. Gods blessings to all.

  • made me cry like a bitch during the ending =/ This is how things like this should be sung.

  • this is a Ken Berg piece! i just met him at the church he is the music director of in Birmingham. he's an amazing man. very funny!

  • Love this version. The tempo is a different vibe, but I can appreciate it.

  • i like how you guys mixed it up and had the guys sing the chapters then the young women sing the chapters... lovely vocal...arrangement.. sopranos

  • Those Sopranos are sickening...

    Beautiful...

  • on behalf of the soprano section, i'll take that as a compliment :)

  • Such a great song, and done by such a stellar group! It's slower than I'm used to, but it only serves to showcase how in-tune the group is.

  • I did this song in Choir last year, ours was faster though. This one's cool too!

  • Amazing. Awesome Crescendos and everything. The men were a little quiter because the bass part is very low. We're singing this in our choir. I just hope we're half this good

  • I also enjoyed this arrangement very much. Could one of you who are doing this tell me where your director got this from. I know its a Ken Berg arrangement, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. If you could find out and let me know that would be great.

  • Never mind, I found it

  • Hmm a bit too legato for me! If you were too imagine the people that this song was written for, how would they sing it?

  • While I was not making those musical decisions (I'm not the conductor), I'm curious to know who you believe this song was written for, and why that would call for a specific interpretation. Really, I'd love to hear where you're coming from on this.

  • Great performance!

Could you please tell me the name of the arranger of this piece?

    Thanks!!

  • Ken Berg :)

  • my choir is doing this song=]]

    same arrangement, as well=]]

    very good=D

    we're awesome, btw=D

    go Sharks!!!!

    <3

  • i really like this arrangement of this song

my skool is doing a different arrangement but u guys sound really good :)

  • This felt a little slow for me..

Probably because my choir takes it to a breakneck tempo.

By the way, it's a cool idea having the choir stand in that arrangement.

  • We've done this song at many different tempos, and I like it a little faster than this. Too fast and it just feels like you're showing off... that's not really our goal, but we've done it super fast while playing with it in rehearsal. Fun, but hard to get the bass notes out!

Every concert, the choir sings a few a cappella songs "in the round". It's challenging, but I love it.

  • Are you a bass? Because I have a couple of friends on the bass part of the song, and there madly in love with the "You know my" Because its really low...and by the way, its awesome, a little slow for me too, but your right different tempo's.

  • I sang bass on this song, though technically I'm a bari. Those low E's are fun, but a little tough to project sometimes. :-)

  • We're learning to play this at our school, but were learning it differently. We're learing to play the chorus, with the e.guitar, and the bass, n stuff. It sounds more like a rock song now.

  • Quiet, but lovely articulation and flow. Nice balance.

  • Same here our school is doing another arrangement!

  • my choir is learning this song. but it is another arrangement

  • I sang this for State Festival! Except my choir sang it much faster.

  • "You know that..." is the best part!

  • This is one of my favorite songs! :)

  • damn this makes me feel good

  • excelente, awesome!!!
