my savage is fast as this and its only running on 3s 5000mah 35c lipo with 3300kv motor and 75a esc and the rest is stock except carbon fiber chassis

@30GB That's great to hear dude, but there's no need for 35C batteries when your ESC can only handle 75A. 75A multiplied by 11.1 Volts gives you about 800+ Watts nominal. My setup is 22.2V X 88A =1900+ Watts nominal. Something just doesn't add up there. But hey, all power to you my friend.

@aqwut you should put put a bigger pinion for your tuck since the motor is screaming also the 4s 5000mah 35c battery i got for $30 and converted to 3s because of a dead cell so dont blame me for buying the wrong battery lol but it dosnt hurt to go higher than 20c

I would stick to something less than 8000mAh, say 5000mah would be enough.. the added weight does sucks butt. Mine was only a single speed, I doubled up on the big Spur, I think it was 72T. and I got a thick pinion. hope this helps you, such a long time ago since I had this truck..

If you run it around 35-45K rpms, and oil the bearings... it'll last for a very long time... change the bearings soon as they go bad.. that's it.. :)

One question I forgot to ask. How strong are those Delrin pinion gears?

that's what I use now, I don't use steel on steel or steel on plastic anymore.. get the gears from "sdp-si"

and double up on them.. I made all my spurs and pinions very wide now.. they'r all over 1/2" thick.. Once you do this, they will hold up very well.

Lutach, I'm lookin' forward to seeing your video. I know I'm afraid of speed too. My fastest Vehicle is my SuperMaxx. I have 2 gas 5th scale, and terminated that SuperMaxx 1/5 scale project. Goin' fast is easy man, just need good batteries, and you have some good batteries there.
