Eh, Halo is more popular because it has an engaging storyline and simpler gameplay. Metroid requires a little bit of effort on the player's part to first get into, which I think is why its less popular.

Big fan of both, btw, though I prefer Metroid.

Halo actually has a very extended story (not just the campaign, books, and the animated series along with other lore created by bungie for the last what like 10 years now?) and it has replayability which im sorry to say Mass Effect does not, and also lacks multiplayer for that matter. @Tophawtdog4411 Okay, I'm done with the hate on Other M. Other M was a great game that was made to tide over fans and give shape and story to the Metroid universe. Since the other games didn't really have muchg story, Other M had way too much. However, Team Ninja worked with what they were given and did the best they could. Look at the light backstory given in Metroid Prime. The game should be remembered for gameplay, not story. And while Mass Effect is good, it doesn't have a legacy.

And the 2D games were the most fun. I didn't like the Prime series as much as I liked the GBA games or even Super Metroid. Was I the only one who didn't had actually that many trouble with the boost ball guardian? Ok, he is pretty dang HARD, and a hit can almost kill you. yet, all you gotta do is keep laying bombs at the groud till he transforms back to the normal form, them spamm missiles/charged shots/super missiles( I don't remember if you get Smissiles before or after the fight though), and he will be dead in a few minutes. now, spider ball boss is, with sure, the HARDEST one I ever fought.

the space pirates looked a lot cooler in prime 1 compared to the others. In prime 3 they had these weird heads. Way more intimidating in prime 1 when they're falling out of the ceiling and invisible and streaking at you with their arm-bayonets and more angular helmets. That game is so awesome at like 2 in the morning with the blinds closed and the volume cranked.

Just blow his knee plates off with a power bomb, plasma beam his shoulder plates, and blast his ass off of him with a super missile while he's recovering. repeat.  makes it a piece of cake even in hard mode (all his minions are a pain though)

Yeah, he's hard but that was only because I didn't know how to beat him the first time I played. After many weeks of trying and failing, I FINALLY beat him. You just have to know how to react to each of his attacks and how to counteract them. The Metroid Prime is the 2nd hardest boss and Ridley is the 3rd hardest.

Oh spare me. ive already completed that game on hypermode XD. i meant first time through prime one i finished with 5 health...now i can do it without taking a hit for the entire 2 phases of the fight. hyper mode in corruption is still hard though, but awesome.

In my opinion the Metroid Prime Soundtrack has some of the arguably best tunes on the Gamecube. My personal favorite is Phendrana Drifts. Seriously mood setting music in this game.

MP2 was way too hard and I got stuck on the Spider Guardian. I beat the other 2 and I think I like MP3 the best. The Wii remote is a good idea for a shooter like that. You have a lot more freedom. MP1 was still a great game though.
