  • I used to watch this every day. I knew every lick.

  • Funny, I've seen him play, now I just want to hear him talk.

  • somebody got to tab the song at 4:31

  • 8:02 to 8:11

never heard that one. anyone knows the name?

  • AAJHAJAHA!!!!!! I FREAKING LAUGHED AT THE CREDIT CARD STUFF SO HARD!!! LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!! SO RANDOM!!!

  • the song at 8:12.... someone knows the name???!

  • @phyrorafa Brother John - Not of this Earth album

  • I love satch playing the acoustic guitar, just like when Vai plays the acoustic. They just add a new dimension to playing guitar on an acoustic. They also do that on electric guitar, but you hear that more then acoustic.

  • Satch - Satch Boogie, Vai - Juice, E. Johnson - Cliffs of Dover

  • @deathscythekim729 More Like Vai - For the Love of God

  • @darthvaderyoda i mean more of the boogie like groove..

  • ne1 knows the name of the song he plays at 4:31

  • @budsyremo i think he just improvised it on the video

  • not only a guitar got but a BANJO god too? what the hell can this guy NOT do?

  • @neanderthal117 he said that he quit playing drums to play guitar so he must be bad at drums

  • 0:07

    fuck the guitar !!

    its banjo time !

  • Im against the whole notion of saying some1 is the greatest.. but Satriani is humble, classy, and intelligent and hes actually talented.. so I dont mind ppl giving him that label. Better him than some of the other half assed players who have huge egos .

  • what is tune at the begining ?

  • @jester295 It's called "the feeling" on the "Flying in a Blue Dream" album

  • his fingers move....and i say yea, but....where are they going?

  • lol...spinal tap lol...

  • @doctorsatan666 Hahahha all those snippets made me laugh out loud each time.

  • Vai himself just said that Joe is the greatest guitarist in the world...so that's that!

  • i was lucky enough to meet joe and to a lesser extent steve in sydney. He is to date, one of the nicest guys ive ever met. Really down to earth but just a genuinly gentle spirit.

  • One of the few artists I've seen that isn't full of himself. You'd almost think he was just another average joe (ha-ha) that you could hang with. He's such an inspiration. Go Joe!

  • you can always count on joe to really rock whatever he is doing.

  • 5.23... Andalucia.. like 20 years before :L

  • @jonotiffers222-I knew I was hearing that. At least I'm not the only one. He really remembers those licks for years after he thinks of them.

  • @BaneOfXistence4 Yep :) What a great guitarist. Shows that he can never get all the brilliance down on tape :P

  • The Satch Tapes are great inspiration.

  • That guy from Spinal Tap is like stoned during the interview. lol

  • 7.50 ... steve vai? ozzy?

  • VAI! lol

  • Christ....its Vai...colorful time period huh!?!?

  • its steve vai

  • its a song the name of this song its:

the Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing

  • thanks dude

  • Yeah. I've got my left working just fine but my big issue is my right when it comes to fast alternate picking runs, sweep picking, etc.

  • chromatic scale with alternate picking till your right hand is on fire!!!!!!!! lol that worked for me

  • StillWaterSeven said: "an angel came down,... and blessed Joe's left hand."

    ***************************

nope, that's what people who know nothing about guitar say.

the right hand is just as important if not more important than the left.

if you cant use your right hand properly on a guitar you won't get pitch harmonics, vocal sound, muted sound and more.

both important but right is even more important.

    ;)

  • Your spot on in one respect, however Satch is a bit of a slave to Legato techniques, and his right hand is virtually redundant in that respect.

  • Driving at night has got a couple of tastefull alternatepicked runs. He can pick too.

  • Oh of course yeah he can do it, there a lots of tricks he can do that he rarely uses, i was just pointing out to someone who was saying your right hand is more important than your left, which in the case of Satriani is as wrong as you could be. You cannot deny legato is one of Satriani's signature techniques, you can hear one of this mans solo's and destinquish him from every other player just by that style alone.

  • who's the guy playing the banjo , people mis-naming youtube vids .. dam u all!!

  • it's joe!

  • Satch had hair?!?

  • lol well i doubt he was bald for his whole life

  • an angel came down,... and blessed Joe's left hand.

  • 5:18 reminds me of Andalusia... thats crazy

  • what is the name of the song in 6:20????

  • Hordes Of Locusts from Not Of This Earth.

  • reminds of andalusia at 5:20

  • Wow. It does sound like Andalusia at 5:20

  • Cheers for uploading this, great stuff :)

  • Hes a genius

  • what guitar is that at 1:50 , if that is the guitar on the recording it sounds better than the js models I think.

  • That is the first Ibanez Satriani custom guitar(Before it was the official JS model.....you can tell because of the wing with the strap pin on it. It's higher then on most guitars and that's how Joe liked it and the tone comes from the Rockman Distortion/Sustainor.

  • that riff at 5:10 is great:D

  • awesome video

if you can please post more

  • thanx for uploading this man! hope you have time in the near future to upload the rest of these.
