Brad Banks should have played the rest of this game. I agree with a prior poster that this was a game that showed what Iowa would become under Ferentz.
even though Iowa lost, i think this is the game that showed Iowa fans what ferentz was going to bring to the table after having a 1-11, and 3-9 record the previous year.. believe it or not but this game was a statement by ferentz and crew
It's always great to play Michigan. Were overlooked as an easy game and sometimes we shock them. I really think Michigan should worry this year..lol Its going to be a great game. Kinnick is tough to play at the way it is and on top of that it will be homecoming. There are three schools I will not root for, the other two are Illinois and Iowa State. Nothing against you fans at all, thats whats great about college football. Look out Michigan..Oct. 10 is your d-day :)
For anybody who doubts Larry Foote's ability to carry the Lions defense this upcoming season, this game's the proof that he can do it. Hell if i recall correctly, he really carried our defense in both 2000 and 2001 because it seemed like everybody else on that team didn't know what the hell to do.
What a gutsy comeback on the road. I forgot that they trailed by 13 in the second half. The one thing that I remember is that the offense just seemed to labor all day in trying to make things happen. John Navarre really threaded the needle a few times this day, major kudos to him.
1. Marquise Walker is one of my favorite WR's in Michigan history. The guy was so versitile. It really is a shame he couldn't make it in the pros. That catch was definitely the highlight of his Michigan career.
2. Iowa should know that going long on a 4th and 1 only works when you have Desmond Howard. :p
In 1997, Iowa took a 21-7 lead on us (thanks in large part to a huge punt return for a TD), and we came back to win. Then in 2001, we are down 20-7, also thanks in large part to a PR TD, and we come back to win yet again. You got to love it.
For the last 15 years, Iowa always gives us a tough game and they had some pretty good players on that team: Nate Kaeding, Bob Sanders, and Dallas Clark. But, like usual the special teams was either amazing or horrible. This was a great game either way.
There were so many 3rd down conversions made in this game, it was insane. Walker caught 5 of them, our last two TD's came on them, and Tyrece Butler's goes without saying.
@MrMrplatinum haha I think so

@westfootball32 In 2001 Bradley was just a freshman and had screwed up on some crucial punts late in a couple of games.

The American flag looks pretty sweet on Michigan's uniforms.

Yeah it sounded like the Iowa crowd was cheering when Walker made that catch lol.

It was probably more of a WHAT THE HELL!? than a positive cheer lol

Yeah that's what I meant. I don't think Iowa fans would cheer for us lol.
