I love it how both sides keep saying we have a jobs crisis in this country and the only way to fix it is this way or that way. Both sides are wrong because both sides take money from Big corporations. NEWSFLASH: we have a jobs problem because we don't freaking make anything in this country! The two areas of the world that want to see the US fail supply us oil and make our goods. It's not that our Government is stupid, it's just that they don't answer to us. They answer to big money corporations

Even though that's an ALL negative statement, I kinda agree and will not deny the fact. I doubt we'll get any better soon, especially if everything today is about greed. Companies are extremely scared to give a fair share, afraid that they'll soon run out of money. We had several major stores close in NJ last week.
Look for another major crash shortly due partly from the engineered unrest in the middle east.
Gas prices could possibly go to $5 or more a gallon. Every 10-cent increase in gas prices equates to an additional $14 billion per year out of consumers' pockets.
Let's not fool ourselves here though. There never was a recovery to begin with. It's easy for the unemployment rate to drop if you just stop counting people who are unemployed.
maybee if keesha gordon did not have neon white clown make-up over her eyes and 18 rings on her fingers she would no doubt have a better chance of employment
yeah there are jobs...$10hr which doesn't even cover rent! this sucks i've never seen it this bad in 35 years of working. i was denied unemp for being self employed in my base year. burned up all the 401K and savings trying to survive. a cushy retirement is gone forever. will be figuring out how to live in my truck next. 10 years ago me and many others were buying vacation homes. now we have nothing and no one hires you - too old or too experienced. this is not america!!!
People! Wake the #$@! up! There are jobs out there but they are in China and in India. The circle is broken. Law makers Dems and Repubs alike have sent your jobs overseas at this expense of americans being able to make a living. They have sold you out to the corporations who also make a living on you relying on your puchases of their goods at a profit but won't hire you at living wage. Send letters to your congressmen to bring these jobs back.
It's a disgusting fact that the rich American corporations, banks & billionaires currently store most of their money in offshore accounts in Switzerland & other countries.
They money which they squirrel away in foreign accounts could probably clear the national debt of America and create enough well paid jobs for EVERYONE!
No matter what any of us think or say, all benefits will end Dec 5=no Xmas spending, in Jan 2011, stores will layoff and shut down. Things will become markedly worse. 14 million unemp and without money. Rioting. Thefts. Assaults. We cannot say anymore its OK as long as its not me. I became a 99'er in July. 2 college degrees, one in Bio and one in Nursing, new grad for the last. Cannot find work. All want experience. Lots of jobs after one year experience. Zero before. Am now on food stamps
@Tankweti tell the potential employers that you will work for substantially less an hour than the experienced employees they seek.....it's worth a try.....then after a year you have some "experience"
i was unemployed for all of 2009 and after applying to hundreds of companies finally am back working, unemployment should be extended as long as it takes for our economy to come back and for jobs to grow, when we're adding 500,000 jobs a month for a year or more and things get back on track then that's the time to end the extensions but until things get better cutting off unemployment now is just cruel and inhumane.
How about thoses Republicans. They really know how to stand up for the Corporate World and BP and tell the American People to go to hell.Your not even an issue! Go ahead put them back in power and wait for Bush two.Good luck Americans, were going to need it!
To all the "go find a job" stupid idiots, THERE ARE NO JOBS TO BE FOUND! What if someone tells you, a paraplegic, to go climb Mt Everest to get dinner. Sure its in the realm of scientific possibility but why must a paraplegic endure the near impossible when everyone else need but to hope in a car and drive over to dell taco.
@Anothercoilgu depends on what state you are living in. I live in massachusetts, one of the least hurt states by the recession/depression. There are plenty of low paying jobs here in retail, restaurants, fast food.....etc but unfortunately it is one of the more expensive states to live in
I remember back in '96 how I tried my ass off for a full year to get any job anywhere. I got one a year later. During that time I woke up to the truth of this pathetic world. I guess now the world lags behind as it finds out the truth for its self.
Sad isn't it. The pols talk about the evils of govt and how govt cant get anything right yet they work for govt, collect a govt check, and spend millions on campaigns to get elected.
"Republicans have attempted on several occasions to extend unemployment coverage, and we would have done so by using unobligated stimulus funds and without relying on deficit spending. The most recent attempt came yesterday, when we offered a unemployment extension on the floor of the Senate. The Democrats objected because they wanted to tack on unrelated spending."
Today I saw the first family out on the street corner, Father I presume had a sign that said Need help ,"Any" while mother played with child along side him,. on another freeway offramp was another man with a sign that said "no EDD yet" this is what it comes down to folks..protest in L.a 7-2 in front of City Hall

What's good for America is good for ALL -- including JOBS!
I like how Ron Paul doesn't participate in class warfare. What's good for America is good for blacks.
"Thy BlackMan.com" compares Cain to Paul and chooses Paul!

Jobs aren't coming back. High unemployment is the New Normal in America.
Jesus himself said this: "The world will not become a better place to live in" despite peoples (politicians)claims and lies.
In fact, i believe the world will GET WORSE than it is now.

The pols don't represent us! They make well over 100K a year.
Perhaps they should make the average wage of the constituency they represent.
Think about it.
Performance based pay. If the people do better then the representatives do better. This ensures that the peoples best interest will be looked after.
