  • Sawao plays a Cyclone. Manabe plays a mustang

  • He speaks Korean horribly, I couldn't make out what he said. I'd rather hear him in English - At least he sounds cute in English~ <3

Swanky Street is the best!! "RET'S GO SWANKY STREET!!"

  • I WANT AT MUSTANG SO BAD ( thats the kinda guitars they are playing by the way)

  • actually the lead singer dude appears to be playing a Fender Cyclone (notice the zebra-stiped bridge humbucker)

  • ha your write, none the less, both guitars are hard to find, and harder for me becuase im a lefty. are you a guitar person like me :)

  • oh man unlucky, the Cyclone doesn't come in lefty -sorry! Mustang does though..or maybe consider a Fender Jagstang?

Anyway yeh im a guitar guy, though i kinda suck at playing!

  • id probably still get it though, just to say i have one, but i thought jagstang was discontinued

  • theyre fender cyclones, my buddy plays one just like it

  • @noclasm1 Tell him to hang on to it, cyclones with only single-coil pick-ups are SUPER rare. The ones with one Humbucker you can find, but not those...

  • yes. everyone knows. and they're cheap guitars btw. nirvana used them.

  • i don't hear anything really wrong with the solo. so what if it didn't sound like the record? he probably just felt like doing it a little different that night.

  • how does the solo sound completely off, maybe if was a little off in the beginning but it seems it was fine after that

  • live sounds better except for the solo

and it brings out the bassline

  • is it just me

    or the solo

    sounds bit..weird

  • manabe can never play it right anymore

  • thats not true, but at the same time, i myslef dont expect for him to play perfect everytime. he has his rough days jsut like the rest of us

  • I thought he was improvising?

  • What band would you consider "talented"?

  • And swinging Blues scales is difficult, right?

Sure, they may not be "excellent" musicians if you define excellent music as amazingly complex music. But then I guess alot of the best Classical music would also be considered crap. Simplicity doesn't make them bad composers.

And if you don't like The Pillows' alternative rock sound, you should listen to their older jazzy stuff.

  • you should listen to there old stuff....

  • Have you ever listened their albums Kool Spice or Living Field? I think you'd like them. They're from the pillows were into Jazz and blues and stuff. They started making pop-rock because they had to; in mainstream Japanese culture, they never would've seen the success they have now without making the transition.

  • @Tidusauron12 - Their jazz & blues is still evident in their pop-rock though... which is GREAT! Ain't no Instant Music here; the pillows is 2 legit 2 quit.

  • @hjcapela

Hm, you hear jazz and blues in HORN AGAIN? In OOParts? Pied Piper? In Wake Up!?

Hm. I don't. Except maybe in Primer Beat. Or That's a Wonderful World. Just a little bit.

  • sawao is the one playing chords most of the time manabe isn't really...

  • @yougotcrad1

their rhythm guitarist is fucking amazing and their drummer is very reserved, he's ridiculous but seems to hold back, much like ringo.

  • sawao looks like a skeleton here

  • ¡Todo el mundo a cantar!

    Let´s go to Swanky Stret! u u uuh!, u u uuh!...

  • "Let's go to Swanky Street."
