I am from the smack-dab middle of the US....bread for sandwhiches is a slice of bread..stuff you put hamburgers, sloppy joes, etc are hamburger buns, hotdog buns are long like a hotdog. And anything longer than that we call French bread :)
Oh and we call all sodas here sodas except Coca Cola....we call it Coke :)
It varies quite a bit, im originally from Manchester so i call it a muffin. However some people from darkest Lancashire call it a soddin teacake!!!!My mates from Nottingham and he calls it a cob!!!!!The ex wife came from yorkshire and called it a barm!!!!!

Awesome video!
We call it a bun, for a hamburger. Or, slice of bread, for a peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich.
Great song choices. They are polar-oppisites though. lol:)
Oh, I'm from Nashville (Southern United States)
Also, we call Coke Cola simply 'Coke.' Although up North, they call it 'Pop' or 'Soda.'

If it's made with sliced bread and has a cold filling it's a sandwich, or a sarni for short.
If instead it has a hot filling then it's called a butty (i.e. bacon butty, chip butty).
if it's made with a bun, it's called a roll, unless it's made with a large bun, in which case it's a bap.
And if it's made with a french stick it's called a baguette.
I've never heard of a cob, a barm cake, or a breadcake.
These are complicated issues.

Clearly it's just called a slice of bread or a bread roll depending on you are in fact making a sandwich or a roll? Stupid northerners. :D

Roll for something crusty, or for a maybe smaller bun.
Bun for if it has jam, choc spread or something else sweet inside.
Bap if it has anything savoury and is rather large.
Sandwich for bread.
