@BajcoTheSinger now i believe it was live but! there are some words thrown in there, which is normal, like at 1:53 yes they put in happy but no biggie artist do it all the time for entertainment and 1:09 she doesn't have to move her mouth all crazy to say that, so it was live and at 2:45 I'm really not 100% but she doesn't look confused she look like she's just relaxed, it came naturally.

i think this was lip synced... it sounded exactly like the studio version and she didnt play with it like she usually does (changes certain notes and so on) it doesnt matter if she did though, still doesnt hide the fact that she is one of the best vocalists of our time (though nowhere near the same league as the Vocal Trinity of Celine, Mariah & Whitney)... someday though =)

moyaj82, surely you can see there are no backing singers - right! Most of the time LL uses her own voice for that purpose. She wasn't off cue - she just wasn't singing on top of her own backing track - she deliberately stopped singing and waited to jump in at the next phase of the song. She did at her Hackney concert where she deliberately put the mic down when her backing track came on. She said herself she has never lip-sync. If this was lip-sync, it was a very bad attempt. LL isn't stupid!

Wow you have to be kidding me... To make lip syncing look believable you still have to sing, it's just that the microphone is off so no one can hear your live vocals. It's common sense.
This isn't the first time Leona has lip synced either, so don't delude yourself into thinking she always sings live, because it's been proven she doesn't. Sometimes it's not her fault though, some venues (Olympics) require it to avoid any chance of error.

well in all her other live performances she never performs it exactly like the cd version, this one was. like the last chorus she never goes high pitch on the "be" in "i just wanna be happy" in any other live version so this one probably was a track. so she's not a crazy good as she made out to be but still way better than most.

This is indeed lipsynced! Liten to it without looking at the vidoe. That's just the track..........just listen to it without watching exact the track. An she never does that note live at 2:43. She always uses headvoice for that. (She sings: Nahu in headvoice) The onlt thing I find strange is the high note in the middle, the headvoice part (C6). That sounded live.....

It is possible she is lip syncing a lot of it... It's obvious part of the vocals are playback it's just hard to distinguish which is which. What I find strange is the breathing, it's very inconsistent in reality because you can hear it very clearly at some points and not at all in some parts where you think you would, and it follows the breathing pattern of the studio track.
Who cares if she mimed on this occasion! We all know she can sing! Ms Lewis is apparently very prone to tonsilitis, so I imagine there are times she HAS to mime! C'mon people, give her a break! I think it's fine that she lip-synched last night. She had a throat infection, and we all know that Leona would sing live if she could. She's even said that singing live is her favourite thing to do. Singers aren't perfect, and she sings live like 95% of the time!
Leona did the best she could with a sore throat. She could have cancelled this appearance as well, but she used the back track so she wouldn't strain her voice on the really high notes. We saw her perform on X Factor and elsewhere, and she did a fantastic job. Of course there will always be detractors, so you can't please all the people all the time.

She's mimed A Moment Like This more than once, she mimed Bleeding Love more than once, she mimend Footprints In The Sand, she mimed Better In Time a couple of times and I'm not too sure about Forgive Me as I've only seen her perform it once really badly on the Lottery show. Off the top of my head I can think of t least 8 times when she has mimed... :/

What a crock of shit, artists like Ledisi, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Mica Paris, Beverley have had careers for 15 years + and have never had to mime once and have even said that they would not perform if they were asked to mime. The only artists that need to mime are pop tarts who need to shift units rather than sell music so wont turn down the opportuniry to mime. And maybe if she stopped pretending to be a diva with a big voice, she wouldn't keep straining her bloody voice
And I like most of them too, okay but hey we live in the real word, and there are commercial and non commercial singers... That's no reason to say the one category is more shit than the other... But the artists you named aren't performing HALF of wath this girl has to present... So there's no way you can compare these people... Different artists different opinions !
That rubbish. Beverley isn't a commercial artist and just to keep afloat, she has to do live gigs - she performs twice as much as leona does. She's currently on a tour from November to March, average of 4 nights per week and about 20-30 songs per night. She's done about 25 live tv performances this year, at least 20-30 appeaances for charities and concerts, a handful of radio performances... And she does this much, year in year out, for 15 years and hasn't ever mimed.
Don't be so silly as to think more commercial and more tv appearances = more performances, that's ridiculous and th opposite is true as more commercial artists rely heavily on an image so one performance has more of an impact than a non commercial artist giving 10performances. Leona doesn't have to do half as much as non commercial artists who spend the year earning their money doing private gigs and concerts all over the country non stop. They can't afford to have 9month breaks like Leona.
Leona doesn't strain her voice half as much as certain artists mentioned who are supposedly much better than her. She sounds positively effortless compared to your 'artists'. And for god's sake, a sore throat is a sore throat, and honestly, why strain yourself for something as useless as this show?
I know it must be hard to make yourself remotely interesting, and while this is a good way to get people to notice you, but please try to stick to stuff you know something about.

I know she can sing for real and she has a fabulous voice but there are some portions that she is not singing live. She missed her cue at 1:56 for the high note .

moyaj82, surely you can see there are no backing singers - right! Most of the time LL uses her own voice for that purpose. She wasn't off cue - she just wasn't singing on top of her own backing track - she deliberately stopped singing and waited to jump in at the next phase of the song. She did at her Hackney concert where she deliberately put the mic down when her backing track came on. She said herself she has never lip-sync. If this was lip-sync, it was a very bad attempt. LL isn't stupid!

o0ber, you obviously do a lot of lip syncing - right! And when you do, your vocal track always moves as if you're singing normally but no sound comes out. You know this because you've checked in a mirror - great talent. You know you're alive when you learn something new every day. I have eyes and I know for a fact LL doesn't lip-sync because she has said so many times in interviews that she doesn't want to lip-sync.

Wow you have to be kidding me... To make lip syncing look believable you still have to sing, it's just that the microphone is off so no one can hear your live vocals. It's common sense.
This isn't the first time Leona has lip synced either, so don't delude yourself into thinking she always sings live, because it's been proven she doesn't. Sometimes it's not her fault though, some venues (Olympics) require it to avoid any chance of error.

I think she lip synched this performance, but whatever, everybody already knows she can sing her face off. Sometimes artist have to mime their performances because if they don't take little breaks every so often, they'll lose their voices, and that wouldn't be good.

well in all her other live performances she never performs it exactly like the cd version, this one was. like the last chorus she never goes high pitch on the "be" in "i just wanna be happy" in any other live version so this one probably was a track. so she's not a crazy good as she made out to be but still way better than most.

This is indeed lipsynced! Liten to it without looking at the vidoe. That's just the track..........just listen to it without watching exact the track. An she never does that note live at 2:43. She always uses headvoice for that. (She sings: Nahu in headvoice) The onlt thing I find strange is the high note in the middle, the headvoice part (C6). That sounded live.....

It is possible she is lip syncing a lot of it... It's obvious part of the vocals are playback it's just hard to distinguish which is which. What I find strange is the breathing, it's very inconsistent in reality because you can hear it very clearly at some points and not at all in some parts where you think you would, and it follows the breathing pattern of the studio track.

Who cares if she mimed on this occasion! We all know she can sing! Ms Lewis is apparently very prone to tonsilitis, so I imagine there are times she HAS to mime! C'mon people, give her a break! And why do people keep comparing artists all of the time! Surely it's a matter of preference?? Personally, I love Leona and Beyonce! Just watched Leona live tonight on the Children in Need concert in the UK. She sang live, and she was awesome! In fact the whole concert was just amazing!!

Leona did the best she could with a sore throat. She could have cancelled this appearance as well, but she used the back track so she wouldn't strain her voice on the really high notes. We saw her perform on X Factor and elsewhere, and she did a fantastic job. Of course there will always be detractors, so you can't please all the people all the time.

She's mimed A Moment Like This more than once, she mimed Bleeding Love more than once, she mimend Footprints In The Sand, she mimed Better In Time a couple of times and I'm not too sure about Forgive Me as I've only seen her perform it once really badly on the Lottery show. Off the top of my head I can think of t least 8 times when she has mimed... :/

What a crock of shit, artists like Ledisi, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Mica Paris, Beverley have had careers for 15 years + and have never had to mime once and have even said that they would not perform if they were asked to mime. The only artists that need to mime are pop tarts who need to shift units rather than sell music so wont turn down the opportuniry to mime. And maybe if she stopped pretending to be a diva with a big voice, she wouldn't keep straining her bloody voice

That rubbish. Beverley isn't a commercial artist and just to keep afloat, she has to do live gigs - she performs twice as much as leona does. She's currently on a tour from November to March, average of 4 nights per week and about 20-30 songs per night. She's done about 25 live tv performances this year, at least 20-30 appeaances for charities and concerts, a handful of radio performances... And she does this much, year in year out, for 15 years and hasn't ever mimed.

Don't be so silly as to think more commercial and more tv appearances = more performances, that's ridiculous and th opposite is true as more commercial artists rely heavily on an image so one performance has more of an impact than a non commercial artist giving 10performances. Leona doesn't have to do half as much as non commercial artists who spend the year earning their money doing private gigs and concerts all over the country non stop. They can't afford to have 9month breaks like Leona.

Leona doesn't strain her voice half as much as certain artists mentioned who are supposedly much better than her. She sounds positively effortless compared to your 'artists'. And for god's sake, a sore throat is a sore throat, and honestly, why strain yourself for something as useless as this show?
I know it must be hard to make yourself remotely interesting, and while this is a good way to get people to notice you, but please try to stick to stuff you know something about.
