You should read more broadly. You seem like a person very much stuck in a paradigm that worked for you earlier in your life, but at age 49 you should see the world differently than you did at 29. Good intentions often turn sour; you may be limiting your growth by labeling things black or white, good or evil. I come from a family that had 20 founding fathers. Their ideals were passed to us but not via rigid dualistic thought, but through reason and example.

@countrysamurai I would like to add that every generation deserves a revoloution. The native americans had a good system going for them. The councils were made up of a blue side and a red side, there was a hotheadded red side which was made up of the young warriors of the community, and it was balanced by the elders on the blue side, who had been through wars and lived through the horrors. This way every generation goes through changes, and radical ideas had a chance to be experimented with.
