This is a difficult song to sing and Jane Monheit does a spectacular rendition. I doubt anyone could top this version. She is beautiful and her voice is as smooth as velvet. Great band accompaniment too! Wow!
Im Brazilian, and have already heard dozens of versions of this song. The studio version of Monheit is by far the very best ever of this piece, in my opinion, but this live is not much behind. Besides, the lirycs are sooo much better in english..., absolutely perfect combination!

I really don't like her approach on jazz. Her voice would be better on broadway not smooth bossa nova. Her voice is forever irking me in this song.
