The only horror movies where I don't mind large amount of gore is werewolf movies. I love werewolves to bits, always have. I don't know why it makes a huge difference if a werewolf multilates a human and splatters blood than if a human or some other monster does it. :D Not that this movie had much blood and gore, but just thinking... :P

@Wonkapoo There is the movie The Companion of Wolves wherein they're practically the same as normal wolves only much much bigger. And I'm pretty sure I'v eseen another where they look actually like wolves...but can't remember. I like these monster-looks-only-remotely-li­ke-a-wolf visions but in my head whenever I write a werewolf character, they look like normal wolves, only bigger. :)

I mostly have alot of respect for the original movie's use of prosthetic's and even the Wolfman as well. I mean nowadays the Wolfman just looks like a guy in a fur cap, but the change scene was good for it's time and the story was solid. Bad Moon had a cool transformation too. Underworld was average, but it looked okay. But really I find prosthetics to be the best when they are done right. Or CGI if it looks better than some of the wolves in this.

The original movie was understated, but the story was lame. They wanted to concentrate on the love story and thus gave us no idea why the hell he even became a were. Why had no one else in that little English village gotten bit? Why him? It made no sense at all. We got no answers. And we never found out what the ghosts were doing following the werewolf around. Thats just a very cowardly way to do a script. I respect trying to give answers, even if it turns out silly.

No one else in the Slaughtered Lamb got bit because it only hung around the moors and they stayed on the crossroads. The ghosts followed him around because the only way they'd find peace is if the remaining werewolf was killed. John Landis was inspired by a Gypsi funeral on how they believed by putting garlic around the dead person's grave they would stay dead and not walk off. So in his movie he had them wake up again as ghosts. I don't think it was a bad script at all. Much better than this.

Hmmm good point. But I have to say there has been much better uses of CGI. And sometimes puppets can work. The wereolf in the first one was a cross between prosthetics, a guy in a costume, and half a wolf puppet thing on a wheel barral to make it move. The better one's for me were in Ginger Snaps (even the 3rd movie which due to budget issues meant they had to be costumes) and in some cases I liked all the CGI in Van Helsing for example. The werewolve's looked kinda odd but cool.
