i don't believe in global warming, and an electric engine wouldn't work for someone who travels many miles (truckers, bus drivers). those are my two criticisms. but, for in town driving, you can do well with an electric engine. i think you have a good point, but i also think that oil companies should be taxed less (they have crazy taxes, like 48% of their profit is taken.) and then gas would be cheaper. we should also look into alternative energy (hydrogen, ethanol, etc.) nice video, by the way.

isnt the real limit on electric limits at the moment the battery tech, besides many of these batteries if im not mistaken use some awful things in them, nickle mining, heavy metal plus getting rid of them. pollution sucks but we are limited by our tech. bio fuels are a pipe dream if you want to eat atm. right now oil is just cheaper then whats out there, bring on suv's they bing up the price of gas and thereby force new techs on us.well just idea anyway. globawarming not we need new tech.

You would select your destination and the vehicle would take you there automatically, sounds far fetched?, Sat nav, linked to fly by wire systems. the vehicle would have sensors that knew the air speed, the proximity of other vehicle's etc and make point to point corrections as to the direction etc!.

Or we'd just have it where only licensed pilots get to fly them at first. Even in the case of auto-pilot, it's probably best the operator know how to professionally fly these things, in case of emergency. I love the Moller skycar and I long to see a day when such a vehicle is common

Even the idea of licensed pilots goes against the principle for me!.

The whole idea isn't just to make traffic jams a thing of the past and to make it safer to get from one place to another, but so that drunk driving and a whole load of other human failings are taken out of the equation!.

The moller sky car is a great invention, the concept model costs about a million pounds, which sounds like a lot but is about average for a concept vehicle.

The problem is the sound, they are bloody loud!.

I have followed the progress of Moller since the 80s when it was called the airobot. that thing has only been tether tested, but as of yet has not had a free flight test. it's stability is Questionable at best. When I fly I only feel safe when I am piloting the aircraft. But then the Skycar will come with a ballistic recovery system.
