@chancehooper With today's economy and all the uncertainties, I'm just wondering how many families out there are having second thoughts about adoption. I'd like to adopt too but not at this time.
That was so beautiful. With the billions of needy people in the world, I just couldn't imagine bringing another child into this world of my own flesh and blood. It breaks my heart to see ANY human suffer, and if my time and energy is going to be extended to anyone, it will be to those who need it most. I just wish more parents would opt for adoption.
d it makes no sense who would pick on someone like her? When ever my parents tell me about I want to go and yell at these little girls and tell their parents to teach them manners. I love her she is my role model. I would do this all over and hope we will. Love you Lilly
My little sister is adopted from China. She is probably the best thing that has ever happened to me. She has taught me so much and I am so much more according of different people now. I love her and when I watched this video i sobbed because I wanted to hug her(to bad she is asleep). When people say that means the world to me. I finally understand because I have loved her since I saw her face on the computer screen. She's grown and has been teased about the way she talks, she in kindergarten an
One day,When I get older, i might adopt a little girl from china as well. I always wanted to share my love and bring a child who would never had a chance in the americas.
Know the truth: I am Chinese and I used to live in Shanghai. In China, there is a 1 child policy and anyone who violates this rule is subjected to stiff fines and imprisonment. As a result of that law many babies were taken away from their mothers and their families. They were then taken to an orphanage and set up for adoption to unsuspecting foreigners for a fee. Do not be misled when you hear stories about babies being left on doorsteps in China. It is a lie. Those babies were taken.
I've watched this video probely 5 times in the last month and every time i see the part where shes handed off to you i cry but more so because its so beautiful and I dream that one day I will be doing the same thing and feeling what you felt on this day. :) Hope your all doing well :)
So a coworker mention that her father worked with my "stepfather" since I am adopted. I corrected her and told her he is my father and she was confused... We just dont have the same bloodline but he is my father! It made me sad that she didnt really understand. My sister is my sister and my brother is my brother and my parents are amazing! thank you mom and dad i love you!
Pray for Australia...the adoption laws need to be changed so that more adoptions can happen. It can take up to 7 years to adopt internationally from Australia.
It's amazing how an unwanted baby suddenly can become so wanted. This really moves me. It makes me so mad to see how so many people can be so cold-hearted and abandon these sweet little angels, but amazed that there are people with big hearts and willing to give so much love. I want to adopt a Chinese baby girl.

@818doodooroo My wife and I have two adopted daughters from China. I can tell you exactly what our lives would have been without them: empty. Considering that there was a queue of people desperate to adopt from China, and considering that China has cut down on allowing adoption, I feel incredibly lucky. I live my life in prostrate gratitude for my daughters. They are, by far, the two brightest lights in my life. I know I'm not the only adoptive parent that feels that way.
@blessedmommy73 A few years back China imposed weight, income. etc restrictions. You'd have to research/talk to an adoption agency about the current restrictions.
China has also started to cut down on allowing foreign adoptions. When we adopted we waited about 18 months for each. Now the wait time may be 4 or 5 years. There are blogs that have current expected China wait times. For example, chinaadopttalk Special needs wait times are much shorter. The gift is the same.
@MrJustMarc Our three adopted children were all locally adopted from our Children's Aid Society...2 of them we fostered and adopted when they became available, and then we adopted their biological brother 4 years later. All three have various special needs, mostly stemming from alcohol and drug abuse during pregnancy and child abuse afterwards. The only thing that is stopping us from adopting abroad is the thousands upon thousands of dollars, it's really too bad....
@818doodooroo I was too. I was adopted at 3 days old. I don't look like my adoptive family but that doesn't matter because my family who raised me IS my family. Love means more than dna.
i absolutely LOVED this video. I was also adpoted from MaoMing in that same orphange. I was adopted 15 years ago. Your "Gotcha Day" was around mine. Mine was august 18 1995. Congrats! Your daughter is beautiful
this is the most wondeful blessing anyone can give to a little child ,,someone to love and to be loved ,, i hope and wish that all will have a blessed life with there children ,it made me cry of joy to see them smile today
beautiful<3 my biggest dream is to adopt a 2 boys and a girl from china. its a wonderful story! and even though im only thirteen i know for sure china is where im adopting from! i wish you all well<3 beautiful is all i can say :)
I wouldn't mind adopting a little girl right now. I have 2 girls already, in a stable relationship ( 7 year anniversary last July), have my own business with a nice big house on a nice big property. We are not rich but make a good living. My problem lies in the thousands and thousands of dollars plus the months or even years it takes to go through the process. That's what keeps good loving parents away.
@jstalilred it takes thousands and thousands of dollars to have a biological baby, too. and it's worth the wait. don't understand who you're trying to convince.
@DWR57785 It only takes about 9 months and $6,500 to have one yourself. Plus no air travel. Don't get me wrong about my opinion on adoption. I'm all for it. I honestly think it should be easier to adopt as long as proper checks are made on the parents to be. Too many children suffer in orphanages while people wanting to adopt get the run around. Look up "Bulgaria's forgotten children"
@jstalilred I'm familiar with a lot about adoption, seeing as how I'm an adoptive parent. I've seen that video, and dozens more. However, your comment about how it only takes 9 months to have one yourself is naive. If people have had fertility problems and they don't feel like taking hormones or creating a baby in a science lab, ending up with a litter of kids, then adoption is a wonderful route to take. Really, your answer is overly simplistic, considering.
@TheTravelfool - WRONG - at least for China - the costs are spread out over several years and do not come to $40K. The vast majority of adoptive parents are not rich at all - they simply do what ever it takes to bring their children home.
@hoddy3180 I know a Canadian couple who ended up paying $35,000. You have to make a decent amount of money in order to adopt abroad, trust me. I know no poor or working class people who have adopted from China, Russia, etc.
oh lord, i cried and cried. i want to do this, i need to raise the money to do this. i have always felt that god wants me to take a chinese little girl and giver her a chance.
this video is so inspiring. i'm in college right now with an undeclared major. i think after seeing this, i might want to be a social worker to help kids like these find good homes and escape from bad situations. thank for your posting your story. :)
Who sings the song somewhere over the rainbow in this video. We have been listen to several different versions and can not find the right one for our gotta day. Please help!
You are all so great! What a big heart!! You certainly saved these childen's life!! I cried watching this video!! What a big example of real unconditional love! I wish all the happiness for whole family!! =') You deserve the best!!
When I watch these videos I think so many things, first I feel like you are so special for giving this precious little girl on her journey, but I also feel for the birth mother who had to give up her baby. I hope you will not only give God the glory for giving you a precious gift, but you will also remember the woman who had to make the most difficult decision of her life. I was so inspired to watch though. May you feel God's love around you everyday. May the birth mothers heart be mended.
Your video is awe-inspiring and heart warming! Your eyes spoke of your immense happiness and I hope to follow in your footsteps soon. May you have a wonderful life together! Thank you for sharing your memories!
ive been trying with my husband to get pregnant. no luck do to having pcos. i want to adopt but dont have the money too. we have enough to take care of another child but not what it cost up front. ill keep praying but its hard to keep faith when none of my dreams are coming true. please pray for me that we have a baby.
Do not give up hope. Your wishes and dreams would be fulfilled someday. Pray hard and do more charity work / community service. God will hear your prayers. Bless you.
Congratulations for your beautiful daughter and thank you for making people like me that is fighting to have what you got continue, God bless your family.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. I was adopted domestically, did my social work BSW internship at an adoption agency, and hope to some day be able to adopt my own babies. It's such a beautiful thing!
Youu are so lucky, I would love to adopt in my later life, but as my family have never has much money, i dont think i will and therefore it may not be a option, I Hope it is as there are so many kids that need someone to look after them.
And i know im only 15 and people may say my opinions will change, but i doubt it will, What is the point in getting pregnant when many other children and babies need families. I Love how happy you all look, and i think you are amazing people :)
@kezluvsboyz2k7 My parents adopted me domestically. I want to adopt some day in the future (I'm 22), and I told my mom I was concerned I wouldn't have enough money. She said that no one has enough money to adopt, but when you want a baby so bad, you find it...no matter how much you have to scrimp and save. Also, I've worked in the field of adoption. There are grants and funding you can apply for, and programs that will assist you in adopting if that's what's really in your heart!
@kezluvsboyz2k7 you could always have one naturally and also adopt one. That's what me and my husband wanna do. I'm sure you'll make a great mom one day. :)
@pinkflower7783 Tbh, i dont want my own, im not saying if i got pregnenat i would get rid of it, but id rather give children who didnt have a family a family, its always been y dream since i was like 11 :)
I showed this video to my 6 year old daughter who is afraid to have a baby (my recent c-section freaked her out). She wants to adopt a baby when she grows up :) God bless you and your beautiful family!
I'm adopting from Asia when I'm older...Asian babies are so adorable! Japan, China...anywhere....gosh, though I just wonder if the birth parents are all right, if they regret it, if they're wondering how their kids are doing...
I really want to adopt a little girl from China in the future. I really hope God helps me, because that's something i really want to do in my life. Great Video!
We were waiting for a answer from God, about our decision to adopt our first child, and after your video,we think our Beloved God talked on our hearts.
Love your story! My family has gone through the same and God has blessed us real good with Mieleigh. She is 4 now. Come see her on my channel. Amazing how God chooses the right parents for the right child isnt it? You are blessed! Its also amazing how big our hearts get once we have these children in our lives. Take Care!
Your video is amazing. My hasband just started looking into adoption so to see your beautiful family has been inspireing. Thank you and God Bless you and your family.
oh goodness I am in tears!! That was just beautiful, your family is beautiful and I hope you have many, many, happy, healthy years together. God Bless x
Amen. God Bless, I have always felt called to adopt from china, and I thank you for this video. It truly warms my heart. Enjoy them, they are blessings!
Thank you so much for this! I feel that the Lord as put in my heart from a young age when I get married the desire to adopt a child from china. Maybe I to will have a A China adoption story! Lord willing
You're story is great and your family is beautiful. PS the song you are using is from a little girl from Cape Breton named Aselin Debison! Great version of this song!
this was so touching this made me cry who would want to send a poor baby to the orpahan centre and when there grown up they would cry to death this just goes to show
Why is it so expensive? We adopted from foster care and it was $2,000. Were wanting another child or two!

Do not give up hope. Your wishes and dreams would be fulfilled someday. Pray hard and do more charity work / community service. God will hear your prayers. Bless you.

@ConPassioneDolce Awwwh, Thanks for telling me about the grants <3

@kezluvsboyz2k7 you could always have one naturally and also adopt one. That's what me and my husband wanna do. I'm sure you'll make a great mom one day. :)

I'm adopting from Asia when I'm older...Asian babies are so adorable! Japan, China...anywhere....gosh, though I just wonder if the birth parents are all right, if they regret it, if they're wondering how their kids are doing...
