My mate also said that in Egypt a Proton Gen-2 cost EGP25,000 which is a total difference with RM54,000 for Malaysia market. Why the huge difference? We don't have to pay any import tax, where have the money been directed?

I can say I own a Satria neo 1600cc GSX (2007), owned it from new and has 108000 miles on it at this time, its never let me down, took me and the wife around europe last year, fun to drive and better built than some other cars ive owned. Yes the interior plastic is a little naff and the seat fabric feels cheap, but it does what I need.
Just take the Satria neo for what it is, Cheap, reliable transport. Test drive one, if you like it fine, if you dont ok, but at least you tried.

For me the best car they made were the first generation Proton Sagas and the Wira 1.6 xli which gave me damm good service for 12 years with no gear box problems at all. I can say I own a Satria neo 1600cc GSX (2007), owned it from new and has 108000 miles on it at this time, its never let me down, took me and the wife around europe last year, fun to drive and better built than some other cars ive owned. Yes the interior plastic is a little naff and the seat fabric feels cheap, but it does what I need.
Just take the Satria neo for what it is, Cheap, reliable transport. Test drive one, if you like it fine, if you dont ok, but at least you tried.

This is not a car worth considering as its priced way to high for a PROTON! The gearbox is shit, the engine has no low down grunt, its poorly made, Has the worst layout for practicalty, not very economical and expensive. You have to be insane in the end to choose this car over a corsa/fiesta/clio/polo/fabia/grande punto/207 etc... Yes Bro, I've been driving Proton for almost 20 years now. I have given my full support to them. For me the best car they made were the first generation Proton Sagas and the Wira 1.6 xli which gave me damm good service for 12 years with no gear box problems at all. That's why it's so dissapointing to see Proton where it is today

lets hope by bringing japanese surveying the scene,the quality of proton car will change.but i doubt it since produa already appoint some of it manager from japanese for quality surveying but the quality since dissapointing,even they is the economic car manufacturer

try to drive a Complete Built Unit (CBU) cars,then try to compare the driving experience in proton units...CBU cars way better than proton...malaysia boleh? then why we tak boleh build a car like CBU units? just why?

btw....what i herd(i'm not proton staff, juz proud 2 be malaysian)they already bring ppl from japan for their quality control,whichis good for proton sake..
