I'm having trouble getting that low, basically as soon as I hit 90 degrees (and a bit lower), something snaps in the elbow (and it hurts a bit). What should I do about that? I've been training without going that deep these past few months (3-4), but I still can't go that deep.

This IS a proper push up. This is exactly what I have to do for my military fitness test. Legs together, and they'll put a pencil below your face, your nose has to touch the eraser.
@lokeradekadente81 You wanna get atleast 2 rest days minimum per week if your starting out, as you must have time for the muscles repair, helping them grow and get stronger. But do what works for you. :)

@SportRecorder13 Ur puffy nipples are probably from puberty. If not, then its probably just how your nipples were intended to look. They aren't a muscle so i doubt exercising will change them.
everyweek i was able to do 5 more pushups i do them everyday i started with 15 rep and 2 sets and made my way up to 35 but now i realized i was doing pushups a touch to fast and had bad form now im nervous to do them again because im not going to be able to do 35 again =(
@santeramo147 well, you want to break records or get stronger? if it's the second start again! you may do only half or 20 smth but you'll get results! i got to 75 fast ones and 55 slow ones, 30 diamond pushups and 40 widerange open arms! now i do weighted pushups! good luck
@lotteein420 Yes, because when I do I push-up to get some exercise my elbows and wrists hurt. Although since I've gotten a bit regular with the push-ups my elbows don't hurt but my wrists still do a little. :/
Most people like to not have their eyes 'neutral' as stated in this video, but looking in front of them to open their airways. Breathe in on the way up, and exhale on the way down.
@jenniferthomas28 I started out doing one real pushup... and a bunch of bitch pushups... im now at 11 on my first set... about 8 on my second and 7 on my third...... and a bunch of bitch pushups after that.
you can do pushups anyway you want... for starters you dont have to put your feet like that it just works different muscles plus when you do pushups you should try not to face your head towards the ground because it strains the muscles along the upper back.. just if you want to get better at performing pushups then strengthen your core muscles...
@123vaw123 i used to do diamond shape push up but recently i read a website and it says that hands placed too close while doing push up will result in rounded shoulder and compressed chest...so i stop do that any more and just do normal push up...

after 1 week take a shorter break and do aten more than the week before and so on.
if one week you cant do more than the previous then do the same as the previous week. after you reach no breaks, i reccomend buying a chin-up bar or going to a park with a bar

i can only do 20 proper pus ups max continuously and i do 60 a day taking 20 min breaks and finnshing them off in 1-3 hours, cause im doing curls and other excersizes

@DeviousPrimate 51 in one min? and 102 in 2? thats highly unlikely as the more you work your body gets tired, thus in 2 mins you should only be able to no more then 90ish. I also have doubt u can do 51 "proper" pushups
im 148 and 5'7, and im built considerably well, but the only thing I don't have is abs.

@SilentFishy Try doing pushups with your knees on the ground instead of your toes. Once you can do a bunch of these try going back to the one with your toes on the ground
Try doing on more than the previous day, this worked for me. For example day 1 do 2 day 2 do 3 pushups day 3 do 4 pushups etc. This way u can be able to do a great amount in two months
@Krondelo ur not weak, bcuz mine pop too attimes and i always do 30 25 at less if i get la-z through 75 max but usualy 50 every sitting its just how we r built, also my right hand since i broke it slightly turns inward more than my left, i now have two vains bcuz of that going down my arm
My problem is that I don't have access to a jump rope or the space to use one, so something that requires less space and equipment is better for me. :)
Hey man try what I did, put something under your stomach like board games, stack them up to the height where you can do a push up, do about 20-25 every day for about a week gradually lower the amount of boxes you have under you until you can go fully to the ground. It took me about a week a week and a half before I could do a full push up.
@yumihitomi Well quit typing, get onto the ground and start with your knees on the floor; eventually you will be doing them with only your feet and palms touching the ground. Don't forget to thank Les for such a great tutorial.

Either way is difficult for me because i weigh like 245lbs so i m happy with any pushup i can do

i weigh about 185 their not that hard i can do around 50 proper pushups :p and i have alota upper body weight

You should work on your arm muscles, that's what's going to allow you do to push ups. Gaining muscles in your arms is easy...

@yumihitomi Well quit typing, get onto the ground and start with your knees on the floor; eventually you will be doing them with only your feet and palms touching the ground. Don't forget to thank Les for such a great tutorial.
