I like the Battlestar universe, so don't get me wrong when I say that the whole surprise, we have a virus thing is utter crap. Too think out of 12 colonies, Billions if not trillions of people, and not one can discover the backdoor programed into the defense network. Like Baltar just gave them some code and they installed it no questions asked in every single ship. They should of just had one hell of a fight and lost. Cool video and music though man.
Nice! How I would loved to see a fair fight between the Colonials and the Cylons. I think the Colonials would have owned the Cylons with those Valkyries.
@GangsterHutterite Haha, that's always bothered me. Has to be one of the worst effects shots I've ever seen. I really prefer the work of the Season 1/2 effects house to the later stuff.
@GangsterHutterite it's just a matter of perspective. they probably have to be way above the atmosphere in order to flow without major fuel consumption, so from an angle closer to the basestars, the planet looks further away, thus smaller.
Poor in house effects shot. Season 1 and 2 had the effects done by Zoic studios. Once bsg went to "in-house" effects the quality went down. (the flip side being they could afford more visual effects per episode)
spoiler!!! one of the ships that was disabled above caprica was the battlestar valkyrie the battlestar adama commanded before he got orderd to command galactica.
if those battlestars werent disabled they could easily take on all of those baseships and either just barerly lose or just win. the battlestars were designed for close range and long hard battles and baseships were designed for quick and short strikes. since the the baseships are organic the hulls are alot weaker than the battlestars.
Wrong. Did you see how many baseships jumped out to that planet? Think of the amount of ballistic missiles that the battlestars would have to dodge. Granted they would've gotten a lot out of the way, but the numbers would be too overwhelming given the battlestars a messy death. Not only that, the number of vipers fails into comparison of how many raiders there were (also assuming per baseship capacity).
@bsimp821 all the battlestars not including galactica are fitted with e.m fields to disrupt missiled guidance systems and detonations so most would miss and some would just bounce off the hulls. along with numerous point defence systems, pegasus alone was able to take 3 direct nuclear explosve hits before getting badly damages and pegasus's main system was deactivated because they were under mainteneance and the discovered the virus in the main systems so they decided to leave it deactivated.
@Winner8501 Robots also never sign peace treaties. Never. It is simply illogical for a robot to permanantly sign a peace treaty with a threat. No. They will always build some sort of weapon while the "peace" is in place. Then, as logical as it is, they will strike without warning at once. That could have been easily forseen. Robots simply cannot surrender. Their logical thinking prevents them from really doing so.
@donealreadysp Yeah, I relaizd later. I stopped watching after it never god any good and kept on being the same old boring almost gossip like crap which never got anywhere
anyone ever play metal gear solid guns of the patriots. kinda reminds me of this. only the bb Missouri was able to go into battle because it was an old anolog ship kinda like galactica
hey, does anyone know whats inside the civilian ships like the pyxis or the gemenon? i mean like, what do the civilians stay in? i saw one scene where they were in these leather sofas but i need somewhere where i can see it as in like a picture of the inside
@magnocain it's scaled to your point of view, check shots at ISS compared to earth, it's not bigger than a grass field but in "space" it looks damn big
i hate the video as i cant stop watching it as it could well be the best on youtube.very, very, very great music it works so well.saintseiya3 if only you worked for the makers of battlestar galactica you would have had a huge christmas bonus as you done such a great job and made people rush out and buy the plan :)

I detect some (not-so?)subtle hints of "O Fortuna" in Era's "The Mass," do I not?

And that is indeed evident when an 40+ year old Galactica and a new Pegasus takes on 2 Basestars, and tear both of them to shreds.
