love how the Americans had to get NASA to build that crazy looking no doubt unbelievably expensive beast just to beat a small utility helicopter made for the British Army by a small company in Suffolk :') nice heli though
@iWearGlassesLOL Nope, it was quite literally built in a warehouse in Sussex by a small company semi funded by the British Army. Even after all these years it was their sheer genius and determination that means the Lynx still hold the title, and before you say no this random NASA beast does, actually it doesn't, as it technically isn't a helicopter, it's a Gyrodyne, a fixed wing with rotors aircraft, so 1 up for the British :P
it's pretty cool, with the counter-rotating blades they are able to cancel out the torque caused by a single blade, therefore they don't need a tail rotor to cancel it out. so they can put a prop on the back facing backwards and get way more speed. also they don't have the problems with dissimetry of lift on the advancing blade!
So, it's a variation on the Cheyenne. Interesting how some things a come back around. Almost like that Simpsons episode with the multi-winged airliner ;)
Sikorsky X2 is fastest compound helicopter but .. G-Lynx is still the fastest Helicopter!

@koonachota
not really i would be good for recon if i was unmaned
roostaraver 4 months ago
they should use the B.E.R.B tech on the blades... might go faster
tjnd69 5 months ago
Wow, the rotors are spinning at just the righty speed so that the frames make it look slomo.

@rionrace
I can tell that you're not a pilot!!!
elvulch 9 months ago
@rionrace no it's not. AG's use an unpowered rotor in automation. First sentence, I have a feeling they have power to the rotor on this chopper.

Worlds longest, most drawn out video of the worlds fastest helicopter. Get to the goddamn point.
TheScientist0000000 11 months ago
Those rotors are spinning so slowly half the time, clearly fake.
CrowsTurnOff 11 months ago
@CrowsTurnOff ever thought that the camera's frame rate is slower then the speed of the rotors?
purecombat97 10 months ago
needs more blades imo
