  • hilarious great creativity

  • I coach little leaguers as well as an AAU u14 team, and I cant tell you how many times parents just ruin the game for kids. Its either they're afraid to learn something that goes against what their dad (incorrectly) taught them, or they're taught to blame everyone but themselves when they play badly or the team loses. Even worse is many parents attitude towards sportsmanship. Let the kids play!!

  • Holy cow what a great message! great acting job too.

  • Great commercial! they sould show this to all parents!

  • i wish i saw this video when i played little league

  • I never did this to my kids teams and hated the coaches that did. I think I coached my assistants as much if not more than the kids!

  • We used to play pick up games of baseball in the outdoor hockey rink in summer in Minnesota. If you hit it over the boards it was a home run and every minute of those games with my friends was a blast. But I used to feel literally sick to my stomach when my dad would take me to play a little league game. One angry dad who was a first base coach was directing his players to plow me over if I ever (accidentally) stepped in the base line again. And they were already totally stomping our team.

  • I umpired for little leaguers and seriously that was my worst job. I loved the game and everything but those fathers...

  • LOL...I LOVE IT!!!

  • LOL The irony is what makes this funny.

  • u tell him kid lol

  • It would take more than 500 characters to describe the bad experiences my son has had in youth leagues with verbally abusive coaches/dads. It has made him not want to participate in sports and it angers me.

  • my dad was supportive and thats what made me a good catcher..i knew more than him anyway..he knew that. So he just let me play and didnt say anything unless it was supportive.

  • Yelling on the sidelines really does nothing... let the kids play

  • This is why I don't umpire anymore.

  • When I was community relations director at a small YMCA with a huge youth sports program (nearly 5,000 participants), we came up with a parent behavior contract that they signed when the child was registered. We reminded them of the values-based behavior rules w/ a bright yellow post card the week before the 1st games. Adults were subject to a warning that could escalate to a three-game suspension. It wasn't just idle threats, and it only took a few examples before parents knew we meant it.

  • lol this is EXACTLY lik my parents except instead of sports, its school marks and grades.

  • my mom used to be competitive with me but i was in ballet >.< thats why i quit because the girls in my class pretty much shunned me and said my mom was crazy.

  • this is y kids quit after a few years they get tired of hearing there parent(s) scream at them over a game and they lose there love for the game. i dont care how competitve u r its wrong how hard coaches and parnets r on there athletes

  • Fortunately I've never been on a team like this with a parent or coach who was like that. Little League does a great job of letting the kids be kids. Lines are drawn early on.

  • u have no idea how much i felt like doing that and lol at his team "little league"

  • thats sad shows you how they took the fun out of it i rember alsats was fun and we won the world series and it was good time now u see it its sad how its all about winning just have fun thats what its all about

  • I used to umpire little league games and i think i got the worst of it.

  • @th3dreadlobster lol been there, I've been umpiring the summer games around town and coaches can be cruel

  • My parents never said a thing to me while I played...only after the games.

  • OMG i cant tell you how many times ive wanted to do this!!!!

  • awesome video

  • You tell him, kid!

  • I remember one time in my ice hockey game in grade school (I am a goalie btw) a kid had a penalty shot and he was coming in at me and all I heard was this high pitch scream from the crowd and the kid looked up to see what it was and lost control of the puck, and I made an easy save, turns out it was the kids mom screaming at him to make it or he was walking home. I felt so bad as the kid skated by me, he had tears in his eyes. From that moment I swore I would never be that way to my children.

  • At my baseball practice this one kids dad stays and watches his son...... omg i just want to go over there and yell in his face to shut up hes always telling his son and even some of us to hit the ball like a man and all this other crap

  • We need to see more PSA's like that.

  • hmmmhmmm i like it....

  • Haha very good video, very ironic maybe this will teach people

  • Good video.. very clever.

I dont' know what it is about sports that makes people act like fools. But they would never do the same thing at work,, the library, grocery story, walking down the street, or in a departmen store.

  • Its not sports that make em act like fools. It's their emotional state that does.

  • Good message

  • when i play the dads always sit together ususally off to the side and the moms r the ones yelling

  • i feel like this sometimes LoL

  • footballs worse

  • This was pretty funny, but I am glad my parents were realists. They never forced me into Little League. They asked me if I wanted to join, but they never MADE me do it. I think for people who get up in arms about it are insecure because they are living out their childhood dreams through the child and that's really unfair. Little League is meant to be fun and educational. Parents who go off the deep end on their kids or other kids need to get a reality check.

  • well, my dads awesome, he does that but i dont care hes awesome

  • lol i wanted to do this when i was younger

  • This should be included in a package given to all parents who sign their child up for little league.

  • lol i hate PSA's but this one was funny

  • ok?

  • hockey dad's are the worst. thank god my dad isn't like that.

  • lol i play hockey too. but down here in the u.s its the moms. but ya alot of hockey parents are crazy

  • Wow~ LOL

  • That my friends, is....

    GOLD!!!!!!!!!

  • thats pretty funny(: lol!!!

  • I just got back from my sons fallball baseball game and This woman was going crazy everytime my son made a mistake he is the catcher . It was horrible I couldn't believe she was acting this way. He is 8 years old !

  • lol

  • lol

  • I've never thanked my dad for not being one of those guys. I should do that.

  • Great post man. I should do the same.

  • this commercial is hilarious but it has a good message

  • bravo!!!

  • I was a goalie in hockey. And once in provincial championship we played to a 0-0 tie and went into tripel overtime before teh othe rteam scored to win. After the game the coach told me i let the team down, LMAO!!!

  • @Midnightrambler376 lol fail if u held off no goals for a game and 3 overtimes i think youve done more than enough as a goalie

  • @Midnightrambler3760 you should put that on FML.

  • that is good

  • Reminds me of my old man...

  • ugh i'll play soccer and i'll be at like...striker. the ball will be in OUR penalty box and my mom will yell at me for not beaing 'aggressive' and helping them out where the ball is.

  • thats freaking funny

  • this commercial is awesome. this could be said for soccer and basketball as well. i was playing park district basketball when i was 12 and one game scored 42 points in the game and my dad was the coach and he was chewing me out after the game cause he didnt think i shot the ball enough, lol

  • thats awsome!!

  • hahaha try having ur dad as the coach lol even when we totally crush the other team he'll find something like im not hitting correctly (trying to guide the bat) or my pitching was off (i didnt jump off the mound correctly) im in fastpitch for girls so that explains the jumping off mound thing..or i missed a ball hit towards me (it was on the ground and was going rlly fast plus i was off balance from trying to pitch rlly fast) ughh ok i feel better now lol

  • trust me i know exactly wht u mean i threw a no hitter for paulsboro little league 13 14 year old teams and he still made me feel like shit after the game like how im not good enough my curve ball wasnt snapping enough

  • same man I can hit 3 for 3 pitch 6 and 1/3 and my dad (the coach) will say my timing was off my baserunning wasnt hot, its just them pushing us to be better. I sometimes take it bad and sometimes take it good. You guys just need to know that all the parents are trying to do is be there, no matter what they say.

  • Or.... they are living vicariously through their children in an attempt to redeem themselves from their own failures as a child.

One of the most ironic things I've ever witnessed is a father yelling at his child to play better at a sporting event. He did it in hopes that his child would impress people and that he could brag about it to his friends as if his child was some trophy he had earned. The ironic part is that he just publicly embarrassed himself at what should have been a fun event.

  • my parents tell me i did good even if i just struck out

  • good commercial

  • I am zack's cousin,

    LOL!!!

  • that was so funny but my dad doesnt say anything when im up to the plate

  • lolz kids got this kind of stuff all the time when i played hockey i swear hockey is the worst for it especially in canada

  • my dad does tht after baseball games all the time even if i do good he can find the silliest thing and make a big deal about it

  • I have been to baseball and soccer games. Thankfully this doesn't happen often. Where I am there are strict rules about parent conduct, along with written signed agreements signed before each season. I am one who will respectfully ask a fellow adult to stop when they are becoming a wannabe coach or fun police. I was "challenged" once. There were quickly 5 other parents supporting me. MOM was told the referees would ask her to leave the field area is she didn't stop trying to coach and yell.

  • yeah my dad goes off on other adults but i find out for good reason once in fottball in high scholl the play was over and a ref goes on he field and moves the marker back and my dad says u cant do that thats not where it was he said o yeah well im a ref and i can do what i want then moves back further and my dad says well your an idiot but i mean it was wrong on both parts

  • LMAOOO WOW REMAINS ME OF MY DAD WHEN HE WATCHS ME PLAY BBALL ALL I GET IS GOOO (THEN MY NAME) BUt o well HES my DAD!!!

  • Ahh...reminds me of my childhood and those special rides home after little league getting yelled at by my dad. Screwed me up good.

  • ya but i t was soccer for me but only a few times

  • i dont like when my parents talk to me i like to concentrate

  • Funny

  • Lol its just like hockey big hits turn into parents fighting

  • hahah i would like it if my dad wasnt as loud as he is he gets crazy when i play

  • my parents are awsome this year i hit a walkoff homerun and everyone was screaming and all i heard was my mom screaming her head off

  • wow, cool!

  • very good ad!

  • ik when i ran track i loved when i was on the final straight stretch and i could hear my dad cheering me on above the rest of the crowd... good times especially the time i came in first in my heat i could tell he was so proud bc it was my first year. running.

  • Great video. Cute way to communicate this important message!

  • i am lucky to have a mom and dad who dont go crazy if i strike out or walk a batter or hit the coach with the bat but i have kids on my tam whos parents go ape if they get struck out looking

  • i know my parents are the same im lucky too and i also have teammates parents on my team deal with the getting yelled at for striking out

  • living vicariously through your children is sad indeed

  • haha gawt, i kno what ya mean

  • omg, we have this mom on the team she is the scorekeeper and she has the squeakiest voice ever!!!! and all she does is try to help us when we hit..

  • haha soo true

  • hahahaha i wish my dad wouldn't cheer me on cause i can always hear him lecturing me on what i did wrong

  • haha same for me xD!

  • love the parents who put their head down by their knees and hands on their head after their kid messes up (strike out, ect.). it sure makes them want to keep playing :)

  • omg ik same here go cubs

  • my dad supports me alot but theres a guy that is the dad of a kid on my team and he is so annoying when i came up to bat the ball was coming right at me and he yelled see the ball hit the ball and i was focusing on him so i got hit

  • that is so true.

my parents are good about that but i've played with and against kids who's parents are terrible. it makes the kids feel so bad

  • In a game, im usually not thinking about support from my parents, but then ill occasionally hear i and smile.

  • that kids a great actor.

  • my dad makes great ribs

  • when im at third base my mom always is saying stuff when she has no idea how to play 3rd. im in frekin high school im going to get drafted someday im fine!

  • wow that was mean

  • And that's really how a lot of parents sound at the games. Just sad. Why can't parents just support their kids?

  • they try to live their dreams through their kids =/

  • Comment removed

  • my dad rules :)

  • my dad rocks

  • a tip to all umpires which i am, if in doubt call him out

  • wow lol all hes got... ive gotten throw out of 2 games this year so far out of 10

  • I wouldn't be proud of that...especially as someone who umpires your games. I do it for pay, since I'm 15, but all adults who work with you do it as volunteers. You should respect that, not scream at them.

  • my dad can be annoying but i still luv him

  • my dads pretty supportive when im playing sports

  • my dad talks to me when im pitching, batting or in baskrtball its really annoying

  • i had to yell at my dad in a basketball because he kept riding the reff and after the game he bought me pizza =D

  • mmmm pizza all i got was a snow cone even if i play half a game i still get full snow cone not half full snow cone

  • haha i told my dad to shut up once

  • im pretty sure i have to but im also sure i got slammed after that :P

  • ahhh your so bad

  • My dad was talking 2 me once when i was batting n i told him

"Dad, would u just be quiet."

  • Haha this reminds me of one time our High School basketball team was helping out at a traveling team tourny our school was hosting. I was doing scoreboard and my friend was doing the scorebook of a 4th grade game. Sometime during the 2nd quarter I accidentally gave 2 points to the wrong team (my friend had the score right in the scorebook) So we fixed it at half-time, but this lady, must not have noticed cause she came down at yelled at us for being incompetent, and not knowing how to keep score

  • lmao he didnt step out of the box !!! lol

  • That is why I play music and not sports.

  • Unfortunately, parents of music and arts students can be just as critical. We hear it all the time at recitals and drama productions.

  • why cant u be more like jimmy's dad you make me sick!!!!!! lol

  • we went down to the rink to watch whatever hockey game was being played, there were some young kids (maybe 8-10) we just picked a spot on the bleachers and relaxed, apparentyl we were on the visitor side.. not that it mattered because i was just enjoying both teams goals. anyways one player got a fairly impressive goal and i stood up n clapped, a parent behind me started heckling ME! "oh sit down,y dont u go 2 the other side if ur gunna cheer for them" didnt know what 2 say lol its a game!

  • i hate people like that

  • I played on the LLWS and it is hard to play with shouting around exspecialy from your parents (luckely my parents didn't do that)

  • I agree, but if you want to become successful, you have to tune all cheering and heckling out and just play your game. I play high school ball and if i hear the other team goin off on me, either i just laugh at them, or just keep playin my game.

  • dude i love proving baseball players from the other team wrong. like the catcher will be saying to swing at the wrong time and ill hit a homerun and when i get to homeplate ill say thanks man i hit a homerun and the ump starts laughing XD

  • lol secret bragging story in there?

  • you make me sick!!

  • AWESOME

  • It's so true... some parents to go pretty crazy! That's probably my new favorite commercial =D

  • HAHA I LOVE THAT COMMERCIAL!

  • y CANT U BE MORE LIKE JIMMYS DAD !!!!! hahaha

  • Rofl I love Baseball no matter how much support i get just love the game.

  • Why can't you be more like Jimmy's dad!?! lol ya that happens 2 me in softball :) parents do that in almost any sport :D

  • i know just how that feels!

  • dude lol

  • wish my parents suported me in basketball, they always laugh :(

  • lol why can't you be more like jimmy's dad!

  • haha

  • It's true! Either parents are over supportive and ring the kids dry or they're not supportive enough! Play softball everyone's supportive there!

  • ur a softy

  • haha

  • i know the kid

    great job

    :-)

  • oi oi
