I visited Howards campus many times when Hampton played them in football, and just off campus it felt like I was walking through Marcy Projects back in Brooklyn. I don't live in the projects but I know the projects. Hampton is on the Waterfront with beautiful views of Million Dollar yachts and homes. If you want to go to the real HU then go to Hampton. Alot of Hampton women are from Maryland, and even they said Howard is in the hood.
I go to Hampton but I support Howard just as much. Black colleges need to be networking and working together to continue the original mission, not competing with one another.

im from atlanta... i know what a hood looks like...but when i looked at where i wanted to go to school i had to look at the location too (SN:i didnt go to spelman b/c i do not like the west end)... plus i wanted to be somewhere i could really focus and be comfortable...and Hampton had all that available to me...

I went to Hampton for UG and Howard for Grad, so I got love for both educational institutions, but I realize you can go to both and leave unchanged or worst off if you only got a piece of paper and never got any true understanding.

Not to mention Howard is located in a major metropolitan area, the nation's capitol at that.
