hey, i've tried, amazing! but i put just 120V in the primary, 160cm of violent sparks! but i want to put in 240V! like just 120V cant make the found in the max power! each one of my MOTs are 120VAC (pri) can i put in series? i know how distribute 120V for each one! sorry about my engish XDDDDDDD
@08Kutt Not only can you, I have! Just don't use a center tap ground so 0 volts floats somewhere inside the middle of the center MOT's windings. If you don't have a ballast you may or may not burn your mots this way, MOTs with 240 V primaries seem to do much better with 4 or even 6 in series! I'm going to try to make a nonsaturable array of 6 mots giving 6kV, 60V per primary, I may get higher efficiency this way and hence more power without damaging my power supply.
@08Kutt I'm going to say probably, my all time record with this one was an intermittent 69 inch spark, since that is 1.7 meters you should easily obtain one meter. What are you using for ballast if any? Send me a PM with your design and I will critique it for you if you like.
@teslasintern 1.70m?!!! AWESOME, whats the lenght of the secondary?/ RSG? voltage doubler? sorry, what's a ballast and a PM? is a top load? sorry, THANKS!
@08Kutt The secondary is 20 inches by 4.5 inches wound with 26 AWG I think. The RSG is an asynch and runs best at 700-900 breaks per second, it is a variable frequency drive based speed control, not the cheapest alternative unless you get lucky on eBay. PM stands for private message, you can do that through my profile I think and it will allow a much longer message. I don't use a voltage doubler, just raw AC, this takes the place of a ballast if you use one (which I don't for maximum power.)

I'm making a 33inches x 6inches tesla coil, I'm using a dual-mot, can I make more than 1m sparks???
