  • A loose cannon aimed at Libya and Israel. Matriarch of Death.

  • STUPID.COMMUNIST.LIBERAL.C*U*N*T.

  • You have bent view of faith. It is your own view. It is not true faith of Catholic Church as the answer to revelation of God through Jesus, Son of God. Never was any atheist who could understand faith of Catholic Church. If atheist starts to understand it he ends be atheist. No atheist any more. You are still atheist? You don't understand faith of Catholic Church yet! Study more, pray to God to understand it. God's mind and heart. Truth and Love. Not killing conceived babies any more. Amen

  • Stephen Sackless is at times annoying in what he thinks is his being tenaciously clever in dissecting guests' views. Just check out what Larry wilkerson had to say to his relentless and somewhat ill-informed attacks and counter-attacks.

  • Ms. Samantha Power, Please help tamils in sri lanka. Sri lanka army is killing tamils there.

175,000 tamils killed by army already.

  • What do you mean by help?

  • Help means doing whatever she can to the suffering people. She should talk about Tamils .

  • "she" what exactly can she do? do you mean the United States? why should Americans have their sons lose their lives for Tamils? (or any other country?)

  • We are not asking americans to lose their life for tamils. Samantha talked about bosnia, rwanda but not about Tamil Eelam.

    We need supporting voice.

we seek justice from America and other countries . Becase these countries are doing trade with Sri Lanka which kills tamils in that country.

So now you understand How america and countried contribute indirectly to tamils genocide.

the need of hour is reconginse the struggle for freedom, right to live as others,

    ban sri lanka now.

  • so you want the US to stop trading with them? what about the suicide attacks? thats not popular with americans now

  • Tamils will simply hate the world if they are not getting justice.

It is india which is doing everything against tamils though 70 millions tamils live there.

  • 0:26 They spelled Obama's name wrong

  • how wrong are all you!!! american people are idiots since they born ??, you should stop talkin and thinkin bullshit, you need to listen more, read more and stop believe on everything that your governants said !!! most intelligent woman in the world ??? nervemind...your capacity to be fool and prepotent is unbeliviable !!! sorry about the world, that must be carrying this "fardo" since ww2

  • I love this woman

  • Is this an interview of a very intelligent woman , or an interogation conducted by a boorish , biased inquisitor , on the attack ?

  • how wrong you are.

  • Stephen Sackur is awesome in these kind of interviews.

  • "Hillary a monster..."

Samantha Power could well be remembered as the woman who lost the Democrats the election. Harvard professors aren't stupid - she must have known the damage that comment would cause, on or off the record.

  • Ron Paul says pulled back Iraq troops immediately. He means it. Not like Obama's best case scenarios!

Obama will re-evaluate it when he is the president, that means guys, he is Bull shit!

  • great intelligent woman rare to be found in us politics ,just continue like that and keep loosin such talents with that dirty unpolitical system

  • This is a real interview. Wish american journalists could interview like this guy.

  • "While some senators spent hours in closed-door meetings over immigration reform in early 07, Obama dropped in occasionally, prompting complaints that he was something of a dilettante. He joined a bipartisan group, which incl. McCain of Arizona and Kennedy, that agreed to stick to a final compromise bill even though it was sure to face challenges from interest groups on both sides. Yet when the measure reached the floor, Mr. Obama distanced himself from the compromise. The bill collapsed."

  • Ohhh Johanna, you just don't understand...Obama is going to wave his hand and "change" everything. All he has to do is meet with the World's Dictators and they fall in line like so many heel hounds. He's going to make everything in this country "fair". He will make everyone all over the World "LOVE" us.

    Yeah Right!

  • What he will do is demonstrate that the United States is a very different country with a totally different leadership . And his election will demonstrate that. Now if Hillary Clinton would just get out of the way and stop causing the Democratic Party all this grief then we can go forward with this transformation.

  • yeah? Explain how he will transform the country.

  • Barack Obama has a website where he breaks down exactly how he intends to change this country and in what areas. Just google "Barack Obama" and look up his website. The Clinton's have overstayed their welcome. There time has passed. Deal with it,NakedLadyMudFlap.

  • I am NOT a Clinton supporter...in fact, I dislike them intensely and for good reason.

Ahhh, but now they are pulling their crap on your favorite candidate and liberal eyes have opened. The Clintons are the same dishonest politicians they always were...but now they're going after your guy so they're evil. You will please excuse me if I revel in your disgust. Sometimes people get what they deserve and the left deserves this for supporting these ethically bankrupt people in the past.

  • "The Clintons are the same dishonest politicians they always were...but now they're going after your guy so they're evil."

Actually, that's a good call. I'll give that to you NakedLadyMudFlap. My conservative friend(God rest his soul) hated Hillary Clinton with a passion and I always thought he was just mouthing the Republican party line... but now I see. She (and her husband) are a problem! However, I do not agree that Barack Obama is just all speech and no substance. You'll see, soon!

  • You're giving NLMF too much credit. On one hand, *of course* I'll protest when the Clintons or anyone else slanders Obama. However, I will not stoop to attacking Hillary in the style of a GOP anti-feminist. The reason Samantha Power was right when she called Hilary a "monster" is because Hillary has stooped to tactics of fear-mongering. It drives NLMF crazy that we pro-Obama Dems have different reasons for being mad at Hillary than GOP goons do! (See: her response when I called her on this.)

  • I read this several times trying to see if any of it made any sense and unfortunaltely none of it does...just more jaded left wing chicken little hoss pucky. I want change too...I want the Democrats and Republicans to stop Hating each other. Neither side is totally bad or good...but you apparently think that your side is totally good and mine is totally bad. Things won't get better until both sides quit trashing ea other trying to gain political advantage...and that's the God's honest truth!

  • "Things won't get better until both sides quit trashing ea other..."

I happen to agree with you. Forgive me if I misinterpreted your remarks as having been intended to "trash" my and others' comments. Your having called them "hoss pucky" may have led me to this conclusion. Now, it happens that I'm not a jaded person at all. One of the main reasons I support Obama is b/c he's the candidate best poised to solve the US's problems without miring us in cultural divisions left over from the past.

  • You might disagree about Obama's suitability for this task, but you have yet to explain in plain language why this would be. Instead, I concluded-perhaps wrongly-that you *prefer* to name-call, to repeat past slogans & slander. As an Obama supporter, this is exactly the kind of thing I want to leave behind, & it's why I'm disappointed that Hillary's campaign used scare-tactics in the TX campaign. I do, however, distinguish my criticism of Hillary from your comments, which were personal attacks.

  • Okay, I don't want socialized medicine and pulling out of Iraq before the task is task is finished is snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I don't agree with punishing people for being successful by over-taxing them....higher tax rates are okay as long as they aren't punitive. I don't believe that businessmen and corporations are inherently evil. I don't think that all Republicans are evil. It is my opinion that Obama does believe all of these things.

  • 1.If you don't want public/gov't solution to the healthcare crisis, then it's true that neither Dem is for you, but costs are skyrocketing, & this is why most business itself now wants gov't to step in. The anti-public intervention stance is becoming a lost cause. 2.The tax-cuts of the Bush era don't protect successful people from holding onto their $, but in fact protect the hereditary wealth of the richest 1%: old-money families like the Bushes themselves. The landed aristocracy.

  • 3.Obama is pro-business (more so than I wish, but as you can see, I too have to deal with realistic political realities). In fact, he is the only candidate that is supported fervently by the sectors of our economy that are actually marked by growth, innovation, and technology. McCain and to a lesser extent Hillary, by contrast, are beholden to old, bloated industrial interests that are actually *destroying* the vibrancy of our economy and *decreasing* competition, entrepreneurship & innovation.

  • My previous post, with my points 1 & 2, appears to have gone missing. (It's possible that it didn't go through due to a technical problem.) Anyway, I'll have to revisit later when I have a more time. But suffice it to say, I actually relish the idea of a substantive discussion on this stuff.

  • "old, bloated industrial interests that are actually *destroying* the vibrancy of our economy and *decreasing* competition, entrepreneurship & innovation"....name some of these please? Yes, there are some BAD corporations...Wal_mart comes to mind...but most are neither fish nor fowl...some are even very good...Chik-fil-a for instance. You paint with too broad a brush. Enron was run by con-men criminals...it was not representative of the majority of American corporations. It was a front.

  • So having hereditary wealth is illegal? Immoral? Fattening? Why does society view this as something that needs to be addressed? Most of these people don't have the piles fo cash that the left seems to think that they have. Bill Gates doesn't have 50 billion in cash. Most of it is M'soft stock. The Duponts own factories and other assets passed down for generations. They're not evil...just lucky. The top 2% pay 90% of the taxes. I started out poor and became wealthy...yet the left thinks im bad.

  • No one said that old money families are evil. You're awfully quick to assume an ad hominem attack! My point is merely that there comes a point at which tax protection for the extremely wealthy-be it hereditary or accumulated-only goes so far before it is actually *antithetical* to the aims of a vital & sustainable economy. My brush is the opposite of broad, because I'm making a point that your gloss on Dem economics ignores: the economy atrophies when wealth is guarded by an oligarchic elite.

  • While there's a measure of truth to the idea that investment is encouraged by, generally speaking, giving this tiny elite authority over its own wealth, this has gone *so far* under Bush, that it is effectively squeezing all of the wealth out of the public sector & destroying the capacity of middle-class & lower-class people to perceive that there's ANY HOPE of repairing the political process. @ this point, even the moderately wealthy know the gov't isn't listening to them; is selling them out.

  • Obama embodies for large #s of Americans the path to recapturing a political voice. Our economic wounds won't heal until we come to grips w/ our political crises. W/ our profound cynacism.

Protecting our nat'l security BEGINS when we're sure our gov't RESPECTS THE RULE OF LAW: due process, transparency, independent judiciary. We can't be united without moral clarity. Can we have moral clarity when know our gov't TORTURES?

These are not Leftist platitudes. They're founding principles.

  • Did you know that American citizens are not wire tapped without a court order?...even if they are talking to overseas suspected terrorists? That's a fact. We have due process, transparency, & an independent judiciary even though the left claims we don't...Why? Because they want to get elected. I also have concerns about water-boarding...but what if it saved us from an attack that would have killed thousands or tens of thousands? Is it really torture since it only scares the individual?

  • I wish that you'd stop talking about The Left as an evil society that's out to get you. Didn't we agree to have a substantive conversation? You frequently chose not to respond to my arguments on their merits. "The Left claims x.y.z. just to get elected"? I hope you think with greater clarity than these sentiments suggest. I'm not "The Left"! I'm a 29 year old guy who wants to hold his gov't to standards of ethics. Are you so cynical as to simply write-off my honest concerns off like that?

  • Reading that made my eyes cross. So Rich people hurt the economy and therefore the wealth should be taken from them and re-distributed. Is that basically what you're are saying? Because if it is, then you are a Communist. Taxes were paid on the money when it was earned (usually at a very high rate) and again at a high rate when it was passed through the generations...this was all legal and this hokum about wealth hurting the economy is left wing delusional class warfare and nothing else.

  • Wait: you said that you disliked personal attacks, sloganeering & partisanship-hackmanship. & what happens when we begin to have a discussion on issues & policies? YOU CALL ME A COMMUNIST!

Is that your idea of a non-sloganeering political conversation? I don't expect you to agree with me, but I deeply resent being called a communist.

You're way off. By your (il-)logic, anyone who supports state-funded education is a communist. I didn't realize Thomas Jefferson was a commie!!

  • Although I don't feel eager to continue discussing politics with someone who resorts so quickly to name-calling, I may as well clarify something that you seem to misunderstand about my comments: when I say that people feel they don't have a political voice, I'm talking about the BASIC building blocks of American life: a vote that counts for something, a basic enough education for a foot in the door, a chance to pull yourself up. Horatio Alger! Finally, protection under the Bill of Rights.

  • The American people already have all of the above....i'm living proof of it.

  • Answer the question...do you believe in wealth re-distribution. If you do, then you defined yourself...that is a cornerstone principle of Communism. I'm not talking about Soviet style Communism, but the philosophical principle.

How did "state-funded education" come into this. Are you a teacher of some sort? We spend about 7k a yr per for secondary ed where i live..you can go to a University for that...does that make sense to you? You apparently want more. Money for ed is not the problem.

  • Your definition of communism is logically fallacious & so expansive as to be devoid of content. Communism is distinguished from other systems of gov't not by the "redistribution of wealth" writ large, but rather by virtue of the means and goals of this redistribution, as well as who's invested with the authority to redistribute it.

In your formulation, EVERY form of gov't that has existed since the hunting/gathering era is communistic. We're talkiing about tax policy, for God's sake.

  • The education example was intended to illustrate this point. The framers of the US Constitution knew that without public infrastructure, there could be no participatory governance. They debated the extent and shape of this infrastructure-just as you and I may do-but they knew it had to exist. Most of them-including, emphatically, Jefferson-promoted publicly funded education, b/c if the citizenry is uninformed, then participatory citizenship is a farce. And so would be the USA experiment.

  • The framers also created (intentionally) a capitolist society..but you seem to prefer a socialist society. I seriously doubt if they would be pleased by the nationalization of the health care system or the re-distribution of wealth. Like I said before, I am a blood relative (Ball family) of George Washington and he was a devout capitolist. We are the strongest and richest nation that has ever existed, yet you think that we're in dire straits and need to socially re-engineer our society.

  • I'm illogical? I never mentioned public education until you brought it up and I certainly never said that "anyone who supports state-funded education is a communist" I said that wealth re-distribution and nationalizing industries is. Look at the school system and the mismangement there...the gov does a bad job of managing that ponerous bearucracy, yet you and Barak want to put them in charge of another prolly larger one.

  • wat r u talking about? against I'm against Obama. This guy doesn't take responsibilities well and is a liar. Didn't u read my comment below on how his absences made the bill collapse. All he has are his speeches and the word "change"

  • I was being sarcastic. I agree with you. I believe that a large part of what Obama says is just empty rhetoric designed to get him elected.

  • THis lady is soo dumb, saying all these false things about Obama's plans...no wonder she fired herself.

  • i'm sure she would destroy you on a 1-on-1 debate.

  • "mend the broken world" Obama really thinks that his going to solve all the problems in the world. Obama is ilusional. For the love of our country say NO TO OBAMA!

  • Who do you want?

  • "a politician is someone with a career. working for you', get the f outta here."

  • i don't believe in anyone and neither should you. all this so called fighting goes with every election. these people have everything and they continue to want more. they care nada about you.

  • Mickey mouse

  • Fuck the queen.

  • lol

  • In other words Obama DOES NOT have a plan for US involvement in or withdrawal from Iraq. Scary!

  • Huh?? as if the plan to get us in there was all carefully planned out?? Right- getting us out is going to be difficult as hell for Whoever ends up with the job and whatever "plan" that person may have will of necessity need to be very fluid and subject to change depending on the circumstances- get it?

  • sad

  • she has a great voice. she would be a great singer

  • I think its Republicans voting across party lines for Hilary to sabotage Democrats. The Republican party seems to be based on deception and lies! Look at the facts investigate history! This WAR is unconstitutional. Read the Constitution and base your perspective on facts not emotion. Wake up! Make the world a better place. Peace

  • The parties in the United States' political system dont even matter any more. Democrat or Republican..... the contenders that are remaining in the field are all Council on Foreign Relations Members. How can I as a voter believe that they actually have differing policies and viewpoints on issues when they hobnob with one another after the long day on the hill is over sipping champaign at exclusive elitist events. Again.... Dems and Republicans sitting at the same tables... making plans. Think !!!

  • Excellent question from Doumbeck about the real costs of iraq war.3 trillions dollars according to Nobel Prize Joseph Stiglitz. Another question posed by him is the true correlation between these costs and the economic recession western nations face today

  • JUST WORDS:

Just Words: Sen. Obama's foreign policy advisor described Sen. Obama's proposal for troop withdrawal from Iraq as a "best case scenario." ... "He will, of course, not rely on some plan that he's crafted as a presidential candidate or a U.S. Senator."

  • she's a hippie type and leans so far left you could call her a red headed red

  • What type are you? a pro war christain?? hahahaha.. you cant stick people in your little catagories.. The war in Irak has not made us safer.. Its a dream in your mind.. The hippies brought good things to the US not the conservatives!

  • Everyone shiould wake up

  • Im into weed.

  • Well, it's clear who Stephen Sackur is biased towards. It's regrettable that "kitchen sink" strategy worked and now we all have to endure this nonsense from Hillary Clinton/Bill Clinton for four months until the convention.

  • Biased my fanny...he asked hard questions and now he's biased because Ms. Powers answered the questions stupidly. He's not biased, Powers is a Moron.

Yeah, H Clinto will beat Obama over the head with this stuff....but remember Liberals, It was A_Okay with you when she did it to folks on the right. How does this dose of your own medicine taste?

  • They didn't even spell his name right. I find it funny that the press focuses on his "lofty" rhetoric but they fail to listen to his specific details. This guy thinks all Americans are stupid apparently because I know for sure that a goal is to get out of Iraq in terms of bombing killing civilians etc 16-18 months, but we're going to be fixing our mess politically for years. We ALL know that, even the people who want us out right now.

  • I want a President who's mind isn't crossed in crisis with any issue except to do what's right. I don't want a 3am call and a President to think, "I have to be strong as a woman" or "I have to sensitive as a man" - I want my President to think, "I have to get input from intelligent sources and make the right decision for America". The campaign has shown one candidate as level-headed, articulate, intelligent, motivating, inspiring, and able to maturely respond to political attack with grace.

  • one campaign has released turban photo, muslim claims, darkenend face, and scare tactics ala Bush to use fear for votes. One candidate has cried under pressure, cited 'for the girls' to split gender, and pointed to experience as an unelected non-legislator as preparation for the Presidency. The same candidate failed at moving government toward universal health care, voted for war in Iraq and permission for Iran, and has accepted more health lobby money than any other candidate. One candidate.

  • This is definitely being promoted by the Clinton campaign. What a joke. Hillary is a Monster.

  • I agree, but it is horribly stupid for Ms. Powers to say so publicly.

If stupidity was a vitrue, she would be a Saint.

  • Of COURSE Hillary is a Monster. Everybody knows this. Thanks for saying it, though. Hillary's desparation and sense of entitlement has won her the support of the ATTACK-DOGS of the Washington Establishment, the shameless bean-counters and tacticians who are afraid of losing their jobs when Hillary, their Establishment Candidate, loses to Obama. Her blitzkrieg of lies and racism during the TX primary was disgusting and embarassing. She has no credibility left. She mader herself into a monster.

  • Interesting to see a European picking apart the Obama freighttrain.

  • but i don't see this as way important. it is a brave thing to do no doubt, but i think we can all agree that most military men are not qualified to be president. no offense to mccain or any others who have likewise served the USA but soldiering does not involve making big strategic decisions.

  • No, Barack was never a soldier.

  • Excuse the naivete of the following, but please humor me; Does Barack Obama bring any military experience to the table like Mr. McCain does? That's a strong factor favoring JM; I'm voting Obama anyway, just curious.

  • We have to keep in mind that Obama seeks a diverse range of perspectives in his group of advisors. Samantha Power is accomplished in her field and her opinions should be taken into account. Her primary area of expertise is human rights and failed states, not military strategy.

  • Her actions speak for themselves. She, as a representative of the Obama campaign, makes statements that are embarrassing to her candidate. She calls H. Clinton a "Monster" and then says that Obama's public Iraq strategy is actually not what he says it is. She basically said that Obama's plan is to make a decision on Iraq after he is elected. Both of these statement have and will continue to hurt his Presidential campaign. She was stupid to make these statements....so much for her "opinion".

  • If you listen to the whole interview, she speaks of what lies ahead with Iraq. What Obama is saying isn't that he will plan to do one thing now, but not do it when he is president. He is simply saying that the current plan is to pull the troops out as soon as possible but things may change and we may have to improvise but at least he is realistic and honest. He is both decisive yet able to see the picture from the outside in. That is why he is going to be so effective in bringing about change.

  • Then why does the caption say she's his 'foreign policy advisor?' Oops. We have to keep in mind that Obama has NO foreign policy experience and avoids taking about it the plague. Thanks to the BBC for doing what CNN wouldn't do. Let's talk to Iran? Cuba? Anyone who thinks that's a good idea should go live there first and get a good taste. Hello?

  • check his wikipedia page, he has foreign policy experience. the idea that we should refuse to talk to enemies is retarded, it only emboldens them and appeals to their arrogance and hatred of the US, as well as forgoes one possible way of solving differences. it doesn't hurt to talk to people-- what is the cost?

  • I didn't say that. I was referring to Iran and Cuba..two countries with well-documented animosity toward this one. We've held out several olive branches to these countries already. But hey, I'm objective, I'll read the wiki page because this country's future depends on foreign policy.

  • This country's future doesn't depend on foreign policy. This country's future is in the hands of the people who live here. Yes, foreign policy is important but we need to focus on our own nation. We all have a part in taking care of this great nation. With Hillary taking dirty money and operating business as usual in Washington, nothing will change. We have to take the time to say no and fix what is wrong by making an effort together. There is no way we can fail if we unite.

  • And it's been said, but it must be repeated: what is this supposed "experience" that Hillary has? Did the fact that George W. Bush is the SON of George H.W. Bush mean that W. was "experienced" in any aspect of being president? Why, then, should the fact that someone is the WIFE of a president somehow count as expereince? Just stop spreading this horrible lie: you're RUINING the country I love, you're fucking things up for my future and for the future of my children! Just stop lying, please!

  • How did she get this supposed expierience? From Bill? How so when she wasn't speaking to him half the time. How does she handle a crisis? Well, Bill cheated on her repeatedly over years and years and that's a personal crisis...which she handled how? By helping him cover up the facts? Yep, Hillary...that's the way to handle ol' happy pants....good crisis management there.

  • Hmm... more sober political analysis from "Naked Lady Mud Flap"-whatever. No one's going to take you seriously when it's obvious that you don't take yourself seriously. In any event, I have to say that it's bewildering to witness you-stupid "handle" and all-posturing yourself as ostensibly agreeing with my critique of Hilary's "I have experience" argument. In fact, it's clear to all of us that you are venting mere bigotry and sexism. Why don't you take your GOP-style smear tactics elsewhere?

  • My "handle" is a tongue in cheek jab at the rediculousness of such things as naked lady mud flaps...the humor of the handle regularly escapes dim-witted people. I did not vent bigotry or sexism...but I'm not surprised that you have insulted youself by resorting to lame and tired left wing slurs. If you insist on insulting people then you should at least try to come up something original...Instead of chirping out stale left wing omni-present hoss pucky.

  • "...I'm not surprised that you have insulted youself by resorting to lame and tired left wing slurs."

Hmm. So, NakedLadyMudFlap, remind me: what was it you saying about people having no sense of humor?

  • Say something funny and I'll laugh.

  • To PhilabustaBlue,

Have you lived in Cuba or Iran yourself? You speak as though you know what it is like to have lived in a communist nation. The truth is that you, just like most Americans do not know a think about what a communist nation is like. Also, all presidents have a foreign policy adviser-HELLO! No president goes off of just his own notions about what he should do for foreign policies. Obama has a vision of making this country a better place for all people. Vote for CHANGE! OBAMA 08!

  • Your BS innuendo bespeaks a characteristic shared by many Hillary-supporters: your decisions are made on the masochistic basis of wanting someone who assures us of her supposedly extensive-but, in fact, chimerical and devoid of content-"experience" to do all of the thinking for you. PURE MASOCHISM. It's the kind of reactionary non-thinking that blocks my beloved country from working to solve its problems in a rational, empathic and participatory manner. GO BACK TO THE 1950s, WHERE YOU CAM FROM!

  • Precisely, and with all her supposed experience she votes yes on the war- why don't people get this? No disrespect to women but I suspect many of them are voting for her simply because she is one without looking more deeply into her sordid political dealings.

  • Actually...I'm voting for McCain. I know that there's a small chance that he'll win but...I really don't like neither Obama nor Clinton. I think that they're both really bad presidential candidates for the 2008 election.

  • You mean you are voting for "McBUSH'? Have you lost a child in this war? what is the REAL PRICE of this War?? Do you have any idea at all? billions of dollars for killing!

  • You know...I have a friend who's in the Marines. And he says that if Clinton or Obama win the presidency that him and most Marines will be out of a job. He too is going for McCain.

  • I'd be glad to see your friend out of a job. I'd be sure he could find a new one that doesn't involve killing people.

  • Really now, out of a job? I seriously doubt that; they have signed contracts. Besides if they are out don't they have any leadership skills at all? If not there is the GI educational bill, VA mortgage assistance and vetrans get hiring preference. It wouldn't be a bleak life to be on the outside.

I know 2 ex-military doing fantastic, one in private security and another is a air marshall.

  • Considering the military has been totally run into the ground, the notion that the marines are gonna be out of a job is hilariously nonsensical. Nice try.

  • If they are out of jobs you can blame Bush for screwing the over.

  • The majority of both sides voted for the war. Obama wasn't there and had no vote.

Answer me this...weapons grade anthrax was sent though the mail just after 9/11. It was weapons grade because it was too finely milled to be produced by ordinary industrial means. It's production required very highly sophisticated equipment that is only available in a handful of places in the World. Was this a trial bio attack? Where did this Anthrax come from? Who perpetrated this heinous act?

  • My point is that the prospect of this type of bio weaponry falling into the hands of the wrong people is too ghastly for the ordinary person to come to grips with.

Saddam had the know how and the capability to manufacture WMD quickly. Saying that he didn't have any WMD is like saying that we didn't find cake in Betty Crockers house so we don't have to worry about her making any cakes. Bush took Saddam out because it was the right thing to do...thats the truth whether you agree or not.

  • Your totally wrong on this- there are plenty of dangerous weapons in the hands of the wrong people all over the globe that we're not doing anything about nor should we- Bush wasn't concerned about weapons in Iraq- that has definitely been proven not to be the reason we went in there- the fact that you still cling to this idea suggests you don't think very clearly at all.

  • You just pegged my Moron-O-Meter.

  • I agree 100%! you are a Moron.

  • The BBC have nicer sets, but are corporate mouthpieces just like ours. Thank you Blair and Bush.

  • Why would Obama choose this woman as a foreign affairs advisor? She's a writer/ reporter so what expierience does she have in foreign affairs? Is this an example of the advisors he will choose? The woman doesn't know what she's talking about...some of the comments she makes are not true and others are at odds with what Obama has promised. She clearly thinks that she is smarter than she actually is. A malady seemingly commom among elitest liberals.

  • if you know, inform us of her untrue statement and do not make comments without back up.

  • I'm not going to print the whole thing, but her last sentence is factually in error. BTW, your comment "and do not make comments without back up" is rude and arogant. I will use my freedom of speech as I see fit and you can take a flying leap if you don't like it. FWIW, I am a 2 tour war veteran and a blood relative of George Washington....and you have the temerity to effectively tell me to shut up? Think Again!

  • She lives in the past with others liberals, claiming to be progressives but wanting to go backwards to the days of heavy tax and spend government that only puts more burden on the people. Democraps are the worst!

  • 美丽加人读《汉书>不?

    Bush非佳,早宜退位。

  • She's gone...

  • she's brilliant than hillary! lol!

  • Beautiful long hair!!! really awesome

  • Wooooooooooooooo, more empty talk from the Obama camp. I'm a democrate that doesn't see much in either candidate and less from the conservative "stay the course" philosophy At this point I'll stick with Hillary. She'll do the best hiring.

  • A think tank has found out that presidents w/out experience do better in office. The explanation is that the inexperienced president relies more on his advisers than the "experienced" president.

  • another think tank found out that think tanks are full of it.

  • That may be but still by and large the less experienced president makes at least better informed decisions. And no one could be worse than Bush. Or could they?

  • Lexduden-

If they're correct, we should be in good shape, since NONE of the remaining candidates have ever held an executive office.

Although, Clinton is far more experienced in manipulating the media, which is apparantly part of the presidency now.

  • She needs a haircut so bad...

  • Yes u r right.

  • Give me a break....

  • uuhhh WHAT is she wearing?!?

  • No one, listen to me, NO ONE is 100% prepared to do the job of ''President of the USA.'' What really happens: guy winning the elections must ''grow up'' in a few hours to become President.

Besides, the Presidency is not in the hands of one man. Fractions of the job of ''President'' are given to different people or to groups.

AT times, the President himself does not know who those people are. At times he regrets having delegated parts of his job to certain people. Think about it !

  • Naive and unprepared...It seems to be a running tradition. The reality is, there is not a soul from Washington to Drekaderkastan(lol) that KNOWS what to do. There are a lot of fantastic (maybe not fantastic, but good) ideas on what happens next in Iraq (how it's spelled). We need to leave regardless! We are so invested that the Ws of the world won't just show their cards already and call it a game. Lets take the best plan we can for our oil, I mean Iraq, and leave them to "themselves."

  • Naive and unprepared... The Obama team has no idea of what's waiting for them once they confront a less bias media in foreign turf. Obama's guys sound like members of the incompetent foreign affairs Bush team. It's like Irak, they just want to win the main battle but they have no clue of what to do afterwards.

  • at 3:00am the phone rang, Hillary answered the phone and said "Bill it is for you"

  • Powers is in the genocide business where she profits and obtains opportunities on peoples suffering. She has received immense funding from fanatic Armenians promoting a so-called genocide.Claiming 1.5m Armenians died where infact there were only 1.3m and after WW1, there were still 1.1 to 1.3m living, but she promotes anti-Turk racism by denying what the Armenians really did. Killing 3.5m Turks from 1820 to 1919 under the Russians and British. My ancestors were wiped out by ths so-call sufferers

  • Thanks to the media who takes high marks for exaggeration, distortion and loose-play with the facts and statements just to expand reader/viewrship. They consistently appeal to our worst emotions like fear, doubt and hate - and we as consumers having grown desensitized to our common higher purpose in life. Shame on us and super-shame on the press!

  • this is fuck !!! paralizatilor!

  • and this as a posting from guys, having GWB as head of state...

    I absolutely agree with montbkk...

  • Monster is a new black!

    Hillary Rocks!

  • Hey yartristan!

You're not making the Philippines look good this morning. If you're for Hilary you can say so without putting down blacks. Would you like me to talk about the Philippines and the people there. If you live in a glass house you shouldn't throw stones!

  • yes in deed, she loves, cares and acts on behalf of the voiceless. She did expose the gross failure of the Clinton adminstration in the Rewanda genocide! since when did "love" and "hope" become a vice?

  • You piece of waste material! You basically declared that you're a waste material because of your lower than human statement. The Irony is, People like you and the generation before (you as you're only 41) said that blacks were less than human. Now the finger points to you by your own words.

  • I'm not American so I'm seeing the American situation from the outside in but not living in America gives me access to more information than North Americans can aquire through thier media. I feel Obama is the best hope for America to become "America" again. When I watched this show on the BBC I came away disappointed because I felf she did not present Obama in his best light.

  • montbkk,

US Media = UK Media = European Media = Elite US plus European Companies.

  • She is tap dancing around Obama's withdrawal promise. Plain and simple. Yah, he promised we'll be out but not really.... Oh brother!

  • devil is in the details, the emphasis is on the issue of the what info comes with being POTUS that he doesn't have as a sen. otherwise yyou have George all over, someone who does not consider facts & reality when deciding, just sticking to ideology

  • Exactly! So if you don't have enough info just keep your yap shut and don't make a promise you'll likely break later. He says he wants "change". OK, so change the age old practice of promising something you know full well you will back away from. My comment is non partisan. Obama, here, the agent of change, is engaging in "politics as usual". They all do it. But they don't all set themselves up as an example of change. That's all I'm pointing out. Hypocricy in action...

  • In substance, i find absolutely nothing that suggests contradiction or inconsistency with what either Obama or his staffers have been saying. Unfortunately, the press, old-school political establishment, and the entrenched interest groups have so much at stake that they are so willing to conspire and engage in shameless distortion and deceptive doubt-casting that's tearing this nation apart. Its no wonder why American elite, the college-educated, overwhelming favor Obama (from every exit poll)

  • there's something fishy about foreign journalists (canadian, scottish and british) somehow reporting on US internal politics, all of which result in MAJOR controversies, momentum shift and resignation of senior campaign advisors.....hmmmmm?

  • I think foreigners also think the same of us reporting on their politics.

  • not suggesting foul here, but it is suspecious why it is foreign press who get immunity for reporting what wouldn't otherwise pass as ethical, fair and balanced journalism.

  • The UK journalist was interviewed and told it the way it is; that if an interview is known by both parties to be 'on the record' then you don't get to pick and choose when your hot temper let's the wrong stuff fly from your mouth. That's the way it is, up front. powers was a loose cannon this was bound to happen, better sooner than later.

  • Power was a loose cannon???? All that she has done for the world. All the awareness that she has raised regarding genocide. And you call her a loose cannon??????? Power is an amazing speaker and one of the smartest woman in the world. Do some research.

  • @bamf2733

Power is an apologist for US power and violence and her book on genocide scrupulously ignores and downplays US responsibility in the Guatamelan genocide, the Suharto mass slaughter of 1965-66, and the Indonesian genocide in East Timor. Power mentions East Timor, but says the US "looked away" from Indonesian crimes there. A a Soviet commissar would have blushed at such a statement. The United States didnt look away, it supplied Indonesia with weapons and arms. That's participation.

  • @bamf2733 because al quaeda doesnt exist. yes, you can call me crazy for not being force fed :/

  • Samantha Powers: Brilliant... a credit to her gender! Why is SHE not running for the democrats?

  • Brilliant. Indeed

  • BIATCH!

  • sounds like a bunch of double talk

  • younger

  • Damn she looks like my friends youger brother im not joking

  • well-handled, Samantha!!!

  • What a smart woman. Go Barack!!!

Fuck all you Republicans who are hoping for Hillary to win. You will burn in hell.

    Jesus is a Democrat.

  • That's right, because they (not you) are the party of haters.
