As I say at the end of the original Imagining the Tenth Dimension animation, my approach to visualizing the ten dimensions isn't the explanation for string theory, but it is a system that a lot of people find connects to their own understanding of how our reality is constructed.
@Kermit4Prezident We all invented the string theory, just not in this given 4th dimension. The 5th dimension just hasn't collapsed in our 4-dimensional timeline:D Haha. Cooooool. I'm the biggest rock star of the history:D

Though its funny it fails!, we're talking about cimmunication-whith-a -movie diminsion not ACTUALLY REGULAR-DIMINSIONS!!! There excists diferent cateogries of diminsiins which you cna put it in.
Fx: drawing, diminsional, parallel lines, commuincation8WHITH OMVIES) 4D isn't time and neither is 5D 6D is where averyone is a movie.
Yeah, but what the heck, they also don't give credit to the creators of Ice Age, you're just supposed to know what they're satirizing. And I agree, it's funny!
I am pretty sure that most College Humor's fans know that it's a satire, and by just upload the video will give you a better chance of gettng you idea about the 10th dimension out to the public. And so, if you do talk to the staff of CH, I'm sure they will give you, and the creators of Ice Age credit. Normaly they don't do so, mostly because, they are pretty professional. But again, they really should give you soe credit for your work. Sorry about the englih btw, I'm from Denmark.
The original proposal is that our universe is constrained at the seventh dimension, as a "point": every possible expression of our unique universe existing simultaneously. That would be pretty hard to express as a joke, so I would say they took some license and imagined what it would be like to be "within" that point. And you could use a line in the seventh dimension, a branch in the 8th dimension, or a fold in the ninth dimension to get to the weird universe they portray at the end of the video
...so that works fine as a joke. I've talked before about that last conundrum - imagine a point "A" on a one-dimensional line, and now imagine a second point "B" elsewhere on that line. That line could be within a two-dimensional plane or a three-dimensional space, nothing would change about "A" or "B", but you could convince yourself that you had used either the 1st, 2nd or 3rd dimension to get there depending upon your point of view.
Best not to think too deeply about comedy though! :)
I don't get it.. is everyone else getting sound? Both here and on the CH website, this video has no sound for me at all. Everything else does. Is the lack of sound intentional? It doesn't seem to be..
Hi Rob and a big congrats! It is a shame that your work was not credited. However, I would humbly and delicately offer that you might enjoy what word of mouth exposure this skit might afford given the disparate nature of their forum. Futhermore, you might approach them about collaborating on future works of any similar nature.
Either way I'm excited to see your work permeating other forums.
OMG!! A mix of two of my favorite youtube channels!!! I clicked this and saw the collegehumor intro and thought that YouTube screwed up lol. Muchos Kudos!!
Thanks for sharing this Rob and yes it does reflect your ideas. I see your original video has over half a million views. Your work is well and truly documented and grounded in human consciousness. People will start referring to it like we refer to electricity but if we are interested we can always research and find the person who gave us that information (you). Have you published your ideas in a scientific journal anywhere? You really should... just for the record.
Yeah, made me laugh. Would like them to add something like "Inspired by Rob Bryanton's 'Imagining the Tenth Dimension'" to the credits, though, after all they're making money off of the use of my ideas!
This is a fanmade video right? Not an actual video made by 20th Century Fox?

So let me get this straight. You, Rob, is the person that proposed this type of idea first right?
Is there a way for them to come up with the same idea without your book? If so then they are safe, but if not, shame on them T_T
Not having credit where it is due is a pain.
I experienced it before and it almost felt like an empty vacuum builds up in your chest cavity

It's college humor, they ripped off some else's ideas. Big deal.
astroman12349384 2 years ago
Well, he can have satisfaction in knowing that in the 5th Dimension I read his book instead and loved it.
However, in the 6th his book was a total flop and he killed himself and everyone applauded Ice Age.
Was that a talking sleeping bag at the end? That wasn't how the 7th Dimension turned out for me. My sleeping bag was blue.

No it was kind of purpulish, maybe blue, but more purpulish
