  • I used to love hearing that in the port authority bus terminal!

  • hammer down

  • WOOOOOOOOO That Awesome!

  • no need to take an ipod if traveling on those bad boys

  • Been long time since I heard a 8v71N, a lot of MCI9s were repowered with 6v92Ts. The 8V71N sure sounds intimidating, and rev like hell! Those 8v71Ns were workhorses, they could scream all day.

  • That Detroit Diesel 8V71N mean business. Nothing like hearing a Slicer Manual Transmission. Nice job catching that sound.

  • those i think both had the old Eaton 5 speed or Spicer 4 Speed. Those 8v71's were damn sure hittin the high note

  • Man... its been years since I have heard that sound! Nice!

  • woo!!! i love me a good old fashion mci.

  • Yes sir my kind of take off!

  • So they use coach buses for the North Shore bustitution jobs...

  • My God that noise! Shit sounds real good!

  • Pardon my spelling errors. Renaissance and Absolutely. Thanks.

  • That Prevost taking off sounds cool. And those MC-9's sounds absolutley brilliant!!!! I drove one identical to those a few years ago. Then that E4500 Rennaissance at the end sure picked up the rear nice. -BOGAR!

  • woooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • A one word comment! WOW!!!! I love it!

  • I've always been a huge fan of the mci mc8's and mc9's love the sound of that 8v71 detriot diesel and the mci mc8 and 9's styling ,the best busses ever.

  • Boy listen to that girl scream!!

  • Yeah it was a stick!!! now my question is whats an Bustitution???

  • Bustitution, or bus substitution, is what happens when a particular train or branch line is not in service and buses are used instead. For example, if there is no Ronkonkoma/Greenport train due to track work, a derailment, or a fatality, the railroad will ensure that buses are in place so passengers can reach their destination. Several companies are contracted for bustitution; Alert Coach Lines is one of them.

  • I was trying to figure out if that MC-9 with the 8V71N was a manual transmission. With it reving that high, I think that was a standard.

  • Indeed, that bus is equipped with a five speed manual.

  • That was music to my ears!!!! that 8v71 is nutting to play wit!!!

  • FUCK YEA!!! Awesome vid man!!

  • OH YES SIR! That first MC-9 was a beast!

All four buses sound great !

PS: By the way, with all due respect, that fourth bus was an E4500, not a J4500. The rear end are different on both model, also an E 4500 extra widow above it windsheld where a J4500 has it's two pices windsheld.

  • correct...my favorite coach...

  • my favorite coach too :D

  • DAAMMMNNNNNNN that Ist Mc9 Was Crazy high. get some audio driving it.

  • WHOOOOOOO, SHIT!! The first MC-9 bus with the 8V71 engine sounds like it was revving up pretty damn high!
