  • The best album the Chad Mitchell ever put out. Along with 'At the Bitter End', maybe.

  • My gay friends have died, and John remmeber this

    Never forget

CAP is one reason I save people's life

John liked it, and he died, so did Col Jim Hendeson, who died along 2 other CAP members.

All crew perished., searching for a 16 year old kid on the mountain.

The kid was found safe, 3 CAP crew diedin te crash.

    Never will I forget.

  • Write me as wrong is crazy

    My brother knows of it

SANTA I'll make up to you

You people or or military planes, or any planes crashes and get's losts

It's my job to find you and we will as a team, and our job is great we found many saves, but wish we could have more.

we do what we are alotted frunds from the congress, and since 2007 it's been cut.

Remember Pelosi who hates our military.

I hate to see us raise money from poor people, even rich.

    .

  • they're not making fun of our troops either

    Hooah

  • Id fight for my country... But I dont want to die. Can i just do accounting or something?

  • this song makes me laugh it's so funny

  • Someone needs to upload "The Ballad of Billie Sol Estes:"

  • Chad lowe did such an Amazing Job with acting as John Denver in the movie Take Me home the John Denver story that I could hardly tell wheather it was John Denver or the actor haha :) anyway though Chad lowe did an amazing acting job and that was the first movie I ever saw him in too

  • PUSSIES!

  • I grew up listening and loving the Chad Mitchell Trio It is difficult to read comments sometimes from those who did not live in this time. A time when the TV media and our government tried to silence those who worked toward peace and racial justice. The Smothers Brothers were taken off the air for being to political and anti war. I am thankful for The folk music days that opened our eyes and changed us forever.

  • @grelax53 You mean like the MSM trying to silence the 'teabaggers' by demonizing them and casting as racist anyone who disagrees with the President? I hear ya sister! What's old is new, and what goes around comes around. Let me guess. You would call soldiers 'babykillers' at every given opportunity. I've had that happen a couple times to me. What's old is new...

  • @BroughamConspiracy but they deserve it... they are an extreme right wing party! They are fucked and they are trying to fuck us with their "change". There is no such thing as conservative "change"! Okay? Go look up conserve, and then go look up change. they are OPPOSITES! Republicans are as outdated as the religions of the world, neither of them serve a PRODUCTIVE function anymore. I agree on one thing though... as the Insane Clown Posse said, "nothing is new, there's nowhere to explore".

  • @IMPERVIOUSthaEJ That is one of the funniest things I have ever heard! Thank you for advising me to consult a dictionary! The lack of historical acumen is matched only by the comical nature of the 'insight'. I'm just glad people like you don't believe in having children. Best of luck, Creepo the Clown. Or are you a mime?

  • @BroughamConspiracy ... No children are terrible... wait hold on... *looks to sarcasm meter and sees the reading is off the charts...* Awww, that's too bad... Have fun dying ignorant!

  • @grelax53 The eyes never stay open for long it would seem. The sandman soon comes back around and dusts our eyes once again... wash, rinse, repeat. It's sad really... what's worse is the anti-intellectualism that seems to be going around this country.

  • Best line:

I gotta water my rubber tree plant.

  • Fantastic! I remember now my "old college days." Thank you

  • John Denver did not sing with them in the early 60's.

  • Great stuff! The song and the performance.

These guys were young when I was. What will the youth of today look back

on with fond remembrance? Rap? Hip Hop? Hard to imagine.

  • @rockgor uhhhhhmm, sorry dude, but there are a couple of beacons of hope out there in the music industry today... hypocrite. You named one genre, did you even invest any time looking for good modern music? I personally love this song, I think it's dope as fuck! Don't listen to what you hear on the radio, that shit is usually NOT music, I'll agree that it's garbage. You gotta dig deeper, into the world of the underground! For the record, I can't even stand my own generation!

  • Funnee! :)

  • I remember this song--oh so well.

As for it being anti-war--well, not at all.

However--the bankrupt, moronic left back then would have you think that it might not be--and that it was a very subtle way of aming "fun" of people looking to duck induction. Believe me--I met some of these morons at both Hunter College and NYU.

    Jackasses all of them ---

  • This witty Phil Ochs song is not mocking draft-dodgers. It's a humorous take on all the excuses a draftee would give in an effort to avoid the draft. Without a doubt, this is considered an anti-war song. Thanks for posting and showing the back of the LP cover.

  • Getting cancer and rotting slowly is a natural death? :) You do realize this song is mocking draft dodgers and not condoning them?

  • Yes cancer like any other disease is a natural cause of death as opposed to getting shot or O.Ding on dope or a car crash or a stab wound or getting hit in the head with bat

  • There is no way Chad Mitchell would "mock" draft dodgers. Remember this was written in a day when you didn't have to trash something to satirize it.

  • @chopper95125 eh.. not much for satire... Rush Limbah hides behind it! I think that jokes are definitely meant to kill though! I did add this to my favorites because it's just that good!

  • While we are at it, medieval style censoring opinions we don't like, let's burn every book that conflicts with the bible as well.

  • No one could write like Phil Ochs

  • All to topical, yet dead on target.

    Thank you.

  • One of the first albums I ever bought, at age 15 or so.

  • "A Mighty Wind" was imitating these guys.

  • I think the target was more the obsessive fans of the genre.

  • i'd enlist just to have a gun to shoot myself so don't have to hear this .lol.

  • @mignonhenne shut up. i just rated this good on another channel. its funny.

  • I used to listen to this many, many years ago! Thanks for letting me have the chance to hear it again. I have the record(several, actually), but they are packed away. Don't have anything to play them on now! Way before their time! Wonderful voices, great songs, extremely biting satire(I remember some of the comments on their songs from back then!). Sorry,jd fan-as stated, John Denver wasn't yet in the group. It's all the original guys! Thanks for the vid!

  • My grandma and my mom's cousin had a band that played this song.

  • This is Karl Rove and Dick Cheney's Theme Song !!

  • Yes, that's Chad singing the tenor, John Denver is not yet with them

  • so clever!

  • OK, cool to know cheers, I have always looked out for early JD - I have 3 cd's of the Chad Mitchell Trio but the Reunion DVD that can be played in the UK still is missing from my collection , I will find it one day!

  • do I hear a young John Denver on this?

  • thanks for your interest. the group on this record were: Chad Mitchell, Joe Frazier, Mike Kobluk

  • @jdfanscot - John Denver sang with the Chad Mitchell Trio in the early 60s.

  • Loved the Chad Mitchell Trio

  • They're great, thanks for the song.
