Most people including myself dont have a prob with gay rights. But its rubed in our faces left, right and centre with gay pride parades etc. A lot of gay people come of as creating themselfs as something special and unique in society rather than just being normal people. Actually, not only does the gay community not have all the rights as straight couples (including marriage) but are also constantly discriminated against. ....I never thought of or treated others who were gay any other way but finding this out about yourself is a completely different experience! I finally understood how depressing this could be though I did know people who committed suicide because of this.

I came out this month and my mind was filled with all that gay haters say, I was the worst person you can imagine against gays towards myself. I dont live in a very religious home and I told my parents, they are very supportive.. the thoughts continued anyway cause it was a shock for me, I got depressed. Now for the first time in weeks I think of this and dont feel a huge weight on my shoulders, I'm lucky I have an accepting family and I shouldnt be ashamed to be who I am. ....

By that logic, heterosexuals have to marry the same sex.
Look, if you're straight, marry the opposite sex. If you're gay, marry the same sex. If you're bisexual, marry either sex. Technically, it will give everyone more rights. So if we allow gay marriage, straights can marry the same sex and gays can marry the opposite sex. No body is getting "extra" rights.

Actually, not only does the gay community not have all the rights as straight couples (including marriage) but are also constantly discriminated against. People who simply lack knowledge can be taught. Ignorant people will always be ignorant. In my opinion, it's very cowardy to condemn another fellow human for being different simply based on some unfounded BS in the bible that was written and revised numerous times by ignorant, crusty old farts. I am a lesbian but getting married and having kids? that's a little overboard for me... firstly, marriage has nothing to do with love, me and my partner have been fine without it for 6 years, marriage is just a contract now, and a religious symbol for right-wing extremists.

oh, another thing is, (at the risk of sounding like a nazi) I think that lesbians shouldn't be able to have babies through sperm banks... I would not want to have my lesbian genetics in a child, to think of what they might have to go through if they get a gay gene.

Congrats on your relationship of 6 years : ) but I dont believe that marrige is just a religious symbol for "right-wing extremists". Atheists, and muslims and so on get married, they are not christian, but that is how they chose to show there Love and comitnment to each other.

I understand your position, but that doesn't mean it should be witheld from those who want to be married, and to receive the equal benefits to straight couples that would entail. It's really about equality and choice.

Some people want to get married who are gay. Marriage means something different to every individual. Love is still love whether it be inside or outside of marriage, but MANT rights are given to people who are married and it is a declaration of one's love. Whether you see it as important for yourself or not, should not be as important as whether you see it as important for everyone to have the right to be married.

Who is to say you have not been tought by a "False teacher"?... again I ask have you ever played the game telephone as a kid? or better yet have you ever tried to translate from one language to the next?? It is my understanding that Jesus Christ represented and taught LOVE and TOLERANCE.... It is my understanding that thoughts feelings and beliefs among Christian faiths differ.... and that Christian teachings are of love. So with that said why can't we agree to disagree... and Why can't Homosexuals be left alone in their own faith? Jews, Catholics, and Baptist hold very unique beliefs...yet they seem to agree to disagree.... Just a thought.

God made all people equal, and this nation was based under the belief that all people are equal, how is this issue an exception? It's because people are afraid of different. Being a homosexual is not something someone chooses, and even if they do, it has nothing to do with their rights as a human being.

those two guys at 1:42 is a true story . thats actually in Iran where if u are caught, u cold be killed. and there is a gay rights movment going on there, its underground but its moving. the leader fled to Canada and his movement partner is still in Iran. theres a documentry on youtube about it. i would watch it if i were u its good
