  • when this song came out The Crips were strong and holding it down in the hood in South L.A. the early 70's. Black pride was strong back then. But the Crips too it to another stage and then went thing started to look pretty fuck up for there.

    damoolah, do you have that cut "1993" by them? I think it's on the same album but not sure. Would love to hear it, again, especially because of the lyrics, being that it's 2008, almost 2009, now.

  • Great soul music in 1972 i heard in Lima Perú in the radio,I had 45 r.p.m. label A.M.Peruvian edition.

  • I remember hearing this song from a movie called

    "Johnny Tough" back around '73. The dramatic ending of the movie stood in mind as well.
