I have one and haven't used it for years because of this. I tried picking it and opened it with a bic pen. And no, Kryptonite will not send you a kit to fix these locks or replace them - check their website. They claim they replaced locks for a year - several years ago. I remember it as a discount on a newer Kryptonite lock so I'd end up paying more for them to fix their mistake - no thanks. I'll never buy another, no sense in rewarding those who rip you off and whitewash it with PR.

For anyone with this type of lock, contact Kryptonite. They will send out a fitment kit to replace the lock barrel with the new type that is resistant to this type of attack.

This only applies to Kryptonite locks made before 2005...

The new ones are not suceptible to this kin of attack.

Its just the tubular locks that are at risk. My kryptonite lock has a slot lock and is not prone to this kind of attack. Unfortunately, any lock - even chain / masterlocks can be broken if someone wants it badly enough.
