  • Very good research Mr. Handy. I do believe that the son will identify with the Black father if he remains in the marriage. I do see more identity issues with biracial children who live in a home environments that teach its okay to hate people because of their skin color, it causes confusion.

  • I wonder if he got an A in his research....

  • what is the point of this research? how will it help society?

  • he looks so much better with short hair a la the mulatto diaries interview.

  • This just proves we can get along.

  • HE'S THE PERFECT SPOKES PERSON FOR BIRACAIL

  • I want Phillip Handy to be my husband

  • Damn Mr Handy. I would marry you and have 50 babies with you so help me God!

  • ur so hot!!!

  • soooooo cute!

  • He could pass for a Jew lol.

  • i've found him on fb and sent him a message lol

  • @Skull I don't really pay attn to that. If a mixed person doesn't want to be associated w their "Blkness" than that is their business. I am mono-racial Blk & I dnt try to see biracials as something completely different than me. I focus on commonalities, like our shared Afro ancestry. I feel it's better bc ppl tend to look at others w/in their in-group more as individuals & not an array of stereotypes(not sayin I go around stereotyping out-groups).

ps It's possible to be in more than 1 in-group

  • @SkullCrusherer Yeah, but every since the 2000 US census ppl have been allowed to pick more than one race. Society can't force you to be anything

  • he looks cute

  • Well I look White, my father was White and my mother was a light-skin Black woman.(She was able to pass back in the days when NYC would'nt hire Blacks, she wore a wig) She was'nt accepted by the Blackcommunity as a whole and I think it has a lot to do with which side accepts you and look iin the mirror.

However I don't identify myself as White because even tho she is dead, I feel it is disrespectful to her. Plus I grew up in a Black situation. (Yes, my White father was in thepicture.)

  • hes cute and smart

  • Interesting video

  • he's pretty cute :)

  • Man of the future will be multiracial.

    We are the world.

    Most beautiful person are multiracial.

  • Thank you.

  • Interesting!

  • I don't know if I agree. My father is black, and my mother is white.. and I am very close with my mother.

  • @wence80 he didn't say all the time, he said "in certain situations" so he wasn't being absolute about it

  • Thoughtful vid. Never considered multi-race identity in the context of gender-parent relations. Your hypothesis sounds accurate.

  • i don't think so, i think that children regruadless of gender bond more with there mothers.

  • FIVE STARS!!! A sincere thanks to Mr. Handy for his research, and to Rutgers for presenting this vid to youtube. It is appreciated.
