I love Nick's music and particularly his take on covers immensely but I think he missed the mark on this. Listen to Shane MacGowan and it feels like he's singing from the heart. I don't get the same feeling from this version.

Nick Cave does a fine job, but I don't see what makes this better than the original. The only thing I can do without on the original version is when the female singers do the "ahhhhhs." The horn and string parts are very pretty
