@maomao667 They should let the Chinese be free to communicate with the rest of the world, for example via YT and FB. Where are you since you can use YT? They should allow protests. If young kids want to have a Jasmine-revolution, then maybe the regime should listen to their complaints. They should also let Tibet form their own state if that is the correct thing to do(I don't know). We understand violations of human rights when we see it. You deny what is apparent to everyone.

@maomao667 and, btw, China should clamp down harder on the illegal markets that trade with threatened animals, like in Ghuangzhou. It can mean that many species go extinct like turtles and tigers etc.. and china should not support bad regimes around the world just to get oil/energy. (same for USA though)

The reason that chinas people now have a middle class is the fact that they began opening their economy up to markets.

They are communist now only in name. The gov wants to maintain power like all governments. If the people of China had a Democracy tomorrow it would not change China much at all.

They would simply have new masters just like the old ones.

This religion like belief in Democracy as a miracle is bizarre.

I have never had one president that I wanted in office in 40 years.

As an example of a free market you need to admit that the US is a totalitarian system that requires a current population of 2.5 million prisoners and 5 million homeless indigents as a condition of its reality.
