i know there's conservation grade bird food, but what about the fact that most of the food sold as bird food is farmed in exactly the ways that are killing off lots of wild birds?

obviously developments are to blame too, as is anything else that cuts back wild areas and plants, but it just seems all the worse when people think they are helping - but really they are funding something that stops the birds having healthy food and habitat in the wild in the first place.

Please feed and water your birds in this freezing weather... There is advice on the RSPB on foods, but any scraps will be good ;-) I feed : Sunflower Seeds, Nuts, RSPB Suet Cake, Gardman Suet Treats (berry), Mealworms, Cheese, Apples, Pears and Sultanas... left over cake, cheap muesli, biscuits or bacon fats are ok too !
