lol this is the only vid i have seen that has perfect 5 stars, witch means everyone who rated gave 5/5 coz even if one person puts a 4 it goes down to 4.5/5 AMAZING!
hmm..you know that in the sf2 specification there's reverb, chorus, vibrato, and all that other good stuff, right? Aren't you able to edit that in the Vienna program that you suggested to me before? (although, I doubt you could get the same effect as in this video since its advanced processing...not unless you knew a whole lot about sound ^^)
Unfortunately a lot of the limitation comes from MPC itself. I'm hoping someday soon a MP program will come out with no limitations and full tweakability.
This is a pretty basic wave edit, and I think you have more versatility doing it this way than editing the soundfont (because of what MPC) offers. The effects are hard-core though, and should probably be listenned to through a speaker (without EQ). And yah, MPC sux. I tried asking a hardcore coder friend of mine a while ago but he is busy with wife etc. I'm glad u found it so fast ;). The stuff youtube did with the quality, oh man. Sry if you have perfect pitch and this video annoys you btw ;)
hmm..I have been interested in the sound tool MPC uses, called FluidXtra. It looks like it has everything that you need to to tweak in accordance to the sf2 format. So, basically, someone would only need to make a better front end for the program than MPC currently is.
Honestly, I really don't know if I have perfect pitch or not. Its doubtful..a while ago I was playing random notes in an attempt to identify keys, but only had varying degrees of success. I think the ability is trainable though..
It's definitely trainable I think. I can hear most notes coming from a saxophone straight away, but not from a piano. The pitch changed when i uploaded to youtube (idk why), so it'd annoy someone with absolute pitch
oh, that's what you were talking about. More than likely its Youtube's volume boosting algorithm that's making it sound weird. (HATE IT! I hated it so much I figured out a way to fix it and made a video on it.. you just have to adjust the DC bias on the sound by 10% or more)
I think I can safely say that everyone is annoyed with Youtube's algorithm, perfect pitch or not. ^^;
I did listen to the mp3 version as well. It sounds like it was stereo expanded in some way..totally missing from the Youtube version. (as well as the Mario bell decaying into space..not as noticeable)
Thanks dude, that means a lot to me! It's nice to see some of the things I include in my videos make it into other peoples videos as well. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery after all :)
I Can't Believe You Made a Video of this song, I bought it for the Ds just to get the soundtrack just for this song, right on

Fuck yes. Ys is so good, I can't believe no one else has made Ys mario paints other than me and you.

@ArvinGhassemi I'm looking forward to Ys 7.
Felghana is my favourite.
Ys > Zelda IMO.
ihasmario 1 year ago
@ihasmario Agreed, I bought Ys 7 like 3-4 weeks ago but I've been too lazy to play it :<

Yes! It's back :D
RehdBlob 1 year ago
@RehdBlob Did you notice that i transcribed the mario heads incorrectly? lol.
Since I did this in individual files and recorded them seperately and then just made this one to show what the notes are.
ihasmario 1 year ago
@ihasmario
Lol, I didn't...
It still works out though, because the sound is correct
RehdBlob 1 year ago
@RehdBlob There's a part where threre should be 3 mario heads per subdivision and I only put one.

@ihasmario
Ah, around 1:20, I see it now

what game is this from; i can't find the OST
mac5565 1 year ago
@mac5565 It's the upper levels of darm tower from Ys 1. You can probably find it on the Ys Eternal soundtrack
ihasmario 1 year ago
@mac5565 I'd probably recommend listening to every Ys soundtrack, though.
if there's anything I can say about the game is that the music is consistently awesome.
If I was to recommend a version of the game to play, it would be Oath in Felghana

I was amazed Nintendo actually put these games on the VC. Musta been hard for them to decide which version of which they wanted to sell though.

Ooh, interesting discussion!
My dad always said I have perfect pitch, though I'm not really sure of it myself...
And I really hate the YouTube volume booster algorithm. They should at least allow users to switch it off...
In one of my videos, it ruined a FADE OUT effect!
