  • Squire of Gothos.

  • Lee was the greatest piano player for his time. He knew what the listener wanted and gave it to them. He was the best performer for his time. Too bad that he did not live longer and played on some of the newer piano's, the sound only gets better. No other like him and his playing will live on.

  • Liberace was phenomenal

  • He had quite an excellent technique. Interestingly, he played from the hand knuckles rather than from the fingers per se. Very few pianist can achieve this - look at Michelangeli's hand movement and you'll see what I mean.

  • yeah, I dunno.

  • Liberace is very good, but for List or Rachmaninov's music he is medium player.

  • @Jigov Very good? He is superb! What planet are you on?

  • ummm...Liszt...

  • @bimmerfun in English maybe.

  • Why do people hate gay people?

  • @Willhur881 - to be blunt, it's stupidity. Here in Phoenix a whole neighborhood hates poor people. They falsified a zoning complaint to stop a church from feeding breakfast to poor people on Saturday mornings!

  • glissandos at 3:40 are a camp classic-the flamboyant pianist relishes this moment.

  • Liberace was really A miracle!!!

  • @DingoHunterDan And WHY do you care so much? And for the record he used to get letters from women that wanted to marry him,so plenty of women wanted him

  • I'd like to suggest my favorite pianist/keyboardist for you. He is the keyboardist for my faovrite progressive rick band Dream Theater. He is also one of the greatest pianists to ever live, accepted into Juliard at age 14 Jordan plays some of the most beautiful piano on earth. Copy and paste the information below and see for yourself. Let me know what you think.

    God bless....

Jordan Rudess - Silent Mountain (Keyfest Live DVD)

  • @balto4 those women you spoke of who wrote to him wanting to marry him? I was one of them. :)

  • OMG this guy is so amazing it makes me want to cry!!!! I have never seen someone with this kind of talent-sadly this was before my time

  • Liberace plays Liszt !? WOW!!

  • He played everything. Haters attack him but the man had incredible talent.

  • I prefer to liszt concerto in e flat major

  • i'm so happy that so many people still love him.

i still think he is fantastic, no matter how many years go by.

it's so hard to believe he has been gone for 22 years !!

  • The world will NEVER see another entertainer of this caliber and magnitude!!

I can hardly believe 22 years either...I was 11 years old and wish I knew more of him then. God rest your soul Mr. Showmanship!! We love you!!!!

  • @swingmusic001 yes there are such entertainers listen to Joscho Stephan, Tommy Emmanuel - Rondo alla turca

  • @Andjiokaja Joscho Stephan i far from flamboyant. He is German, and as most Germans he is not very juicy. Besides Gypsyjazz is not the scene for Liberace-like shows.

  • oh, from the first 2 lines I thought you ment Liszt.

but clearly, you are very right

  • He was an extremely gifted man who used the talent given him to bring so much joy to so many.

  • Liquid Fingers! They absolutely G L I D E like feathers across the keyboard!

  • Liberace first played this work complete in 1940 with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Frederick Stock. Hearing this 'Reader's Digest' version makes me wish I'd heard the real thing from him. Still he probably made the right career decision - certainly financially!

  • perhaps one of the greatest all round pianists of the 20th century.

  • You spit out insults with out back them up? Who are you calling a moron anyways? Perhaps you are looking in a mirror?

  • jealous r we!!!

  • I always thought Liberace could "play a bit" but I never realised he was as good as this.

  • he was awesome wasnt he!!!!!

  • Indeed he was awesome. My wife and I saw him live in concert in Melbourne Australia in 1985A memorable evening which will last with me forever

  • "YOU GOT TO SEE HIM LIVE", oh im so jealous:)

  • Yes indeed - we did get to see him live, and that was about 18- 24 months before his untimely death. It was an experience I personally will never forget, and his interaction with the Audience at the Melbourne Concert Hall was something to be seen. He had a genuine smile and was always happy playing before and audience - even if there were only ten people in the room, and I might add he had a wicked sense of humour which sadly doesnt always show up n many of his recordings.

  • You saw him live - I wish I were you

  • Yes indeed, we saw him live in performamce at the Mebourne Concert Hall in 1985. Tockets were $100 for the best seats in the house adn thats waht we paid. Well well worth every Dollar spent. Memories that will go with me to my grave

  • @divvy1400yam600 me too

  • Sounds like angels playing w/bells in heaven

  • Thank you ALL for helping me out who this Listz guy was.

(I see that the uploader corrected the title of the video)

What a splendid performance it was by the way...UNREAL! (just like the fire of the candle...)

  • Maravilloso

  • Pianopera, Listz was one of the most melancolic and brilliant musicians of all time.... type ''La Campanella''... and you'll see what that guy was made of... regards!

  • Who was this guy Listz?

  • the baddest piano player of all time

  • Eh, more like long winded.

  • oh you poor stupid thing, never to appreciate the great liszt

  • Look up Alfred Brendels' take on these pages, hopefully you'll be saying not long winded enough after viewing the 3 parts to it...

  • Franz, Liszt, who was he? A famous Hungarian composer born in 1811? Use the Wikipedia site and look him up.

  • The unique tune that comes out of his playing is due to the piano. They're all Baldwins by design. Another pianist who prefers it rather than Steinway is Earl Wild.

  • i have always loved this arrangement played by LIB, but have never seen it actually played by him.. wow, thanks.

  • Thank you for posting this i have a recording of this, its nice to see this being played.

also as a piano tuner its nice to to see a piano so well played and in tune.
