Make no mistake about it Mauritius is one hell of a dangerous place , once you go outside the secured areas within any hotel complex, now your not even safe within the hotels. Mauritus 30 years ago was a ideal holiday location for the super rich, thats all changed with hundreds of seedy and tatty hotels now scattered over the once paradise island. Today Mauritius is rife with drug gangs, and other criminal groups who are jumping on the band wagon of the mass tourist industry.

Fair enough if she was a prominent figure in your locality, or you support Tyrone. A great deal of people going on about it don't meet either of those criteria. Their reactions just seems hypocritical and false to me. A false somber reaction that lasts for about an hour, until something else takes their fancy.

It isn't a disgrace of a comment; I wasn't being cruel in the slightest. Pessimistic, perhaps; but realistic and observational. Most people wouldn't give the tragic event a second thought if it wasn't as publicised as it has been. Do they feel the same pangs for the people who died in the recent floods in Australia and Brazil? How about the man murdered in Youghal (Co. Cork) a few days ago? I highly doubt that they do. I'm simply pointing out that they're hypocrites.

@LulzGalore00 TBH I'd say you're equally indifferent to the death of that poor woman in Youghal. Just looking for a bit of attention in this way is a bit pathetic, having a go at people who had seen this girl on TV with her Dad numerous times over the years, heard her being interviewed, saw her on the Rose of Tralee etc. People are more upset at the death of someone they knew a lot about than they are at the death of someone they knew nothing about. There's nothing hypocritical about that.

All Mauritians are really saddened and shocked by this tragic event. Murders are very rare in Mauritius and the island has a very low crime rate, which makes Michaela's murder at such a happy time in her personal life even more sad. What a beautiful and talented girl... I wasn't aware of Michaela before I heard of her sad passing. Watching this and the footage of Mickey paying tribute on the news really made me feel ill. I didnt know the family, or neither do i know anything about GAA football. Infact, i dont even support it. However, i am from Northern Ireland, and this news is just absolutely devestating for everyone, of all religions. My prayers and love go out to the Harte family, and also her husband. So so sad. <3
