if u knew nething bout cars ud know, although it gives u dwnforce and u loose some of acceleration u gain better top speed as the wind will pass over car easier and stop air restitance and then depending on track u can just have a short gear ratio to give u the acceleration as top end is hardly used on most tracks.

yeah thats not true though body kits are made of light weight materials like fiberglass or polyurethane to decrease the weight (not significantly really) , and then uses aerodynamics to harness air and direct it well such as the brakes to cool them, the engine for airflow and then of course some is directed to make you stick to the ground but only at high speeds. so no you dont go slower
