  • very , very nice car ,

  • I'm still enjoying my 1990 Chrysler Fifth Avenue. Great Car!!

  • Ah, yes. The Ultradrive automatic transaxle.

People tended to blame this transaxle for being a piece of unreliable junk. But, what usually happens is that, when the fluid is changed, people make the mistake of using the wrong fluid. Instead of the correct Chrysler spec fluid (currently ATF +4), people and service shops used Dexron, which is a GM spec fluid. Makes this transaxle shift funny and, if the fluid not replaced with the right kind, can cause transaxle failure.

  • It is just so beautiful. I love that overhead console. Why did it have to go? I LOVED THE OVERHEAD CONSOLE.

  • I love the digital instrument panel as I think it look sos cool! Most of today's so called luxury cars has only analog, not a true luxury feature. This was the best looking 5th Avenue!

  • I want one now!! :D

  • I love my 90 Fifth Ave... it has everything except the digital dash and EVIC unit. The only downside is, the load leveling air ride is now a manual fill, and the driver side floor board has "Feet A/C" now due in part its a northern car and the original owners didn't believe in cleaning the salt off the bottom of the car after winter. Still love it though.

  • SE PARECE MUCHO AL IMPERIAL

  • haha. they cheated. when they sowed the braking capability, they were going up hill.

  • Not many cars had a standard driver's side airbag in 1990. This was a great added safety feature.

  • i have a 1990 chrsler new yorker and i have a qustion . ok ill be driving and the car will turn off while im rolling stiring wheel locks and i have to force it to the side and park it and re start it but whats wrong can anyone help me

  • @PDALEFATBOI Sounds like you have a bad ECM...or Engine Control Module...it's a little computer box that manages your engine. You can easily get them for cheap on Ebay.

  • These vehicles have always been really nice looking, the lines were incomparable...in essence, these vehicles were luxury for less! Just have to go easy on the tranny. Thx for posting these...

  • this car seems to be ahead of its time

  • This car comes with a moonroof right?

  • These cars are still around i owned 2 already and just turn 21 love these cars to death got a rebuilt transmission on it and spent bout 2,000 buying speakers surround system and everything else you could imagine!!!

  • Are these cars still around? I mean can people buy them? And does it have a sunroof and power antenna option?

  • i have one of these! landau tho, its my first car, but it is in the shop right now, rear spring support, if its too much money for my family to fix...i'll have to say goodbye, and i am in love with this car, it drives so smoothly andn i love the way it turns and the loose steering wheel

  • I had a dynasty the 3.3 was a good engine but the transmission was horribe pos. It felt really rubbery whenever it would shift and it gave out at just over 100k. Other than that A new owner of one of these would like the air shocks but once they go Ouch.

  • All it takes is one stop at the lube shop and some chowderhead putting Dexron(both GM and Ford and almost all makes use it) in your Chrysler tranny to screw it up. This happened over and over and over. Every Chrysler dealer should have taken the new owner aside and given them a talk about how crucial it was to use only Chrysler tranny fluid in their car.

  • hey buddy ... I hate to break it to you, but comparing those cars is like comparing an apple to an orange.

New Yorker / Imperial is for relaxed cruising and looking good pulling up to someplace nice (restaurant?) for a reasonable cost. Despite being full size, these cars are very good on fuel and seat at least four adults in supreme comfort.

  • I love these videos !

  • My grandmother had 1990 Fifth Avenue. She had the optional wire wheel covers and the anti-lock brakes. It was blue/blue. It was a very reliable car over than it seemed to need brake pads every 10k but maybe it was her driving habits.

  • I wonder how much they're selling for in used car lots nowadays.

  • i got an 89 for $600... minor damage still 100% mechanically

  • the old early 80s new yorker looked like a town car of the same year, but overall this was chrysler's best car! I love it I have a 1991 new yorker fifth avenue fully loaded up awesome!!!

  • so weird seeing one thats NOT sagging....

  • woooo i have this car this video doesnt show exactly how awesome it is i love my car =)

  • Thank you for posting this! I like having these types of videos, considering I have a 1992 version of one these beautys!

  • I really like these cars! But I agree: Not as good as Olds 88/98 .... when it comes to comfort & driveability.

  • I miss my Fifth Avenue...so comfy.

  • This car is better than some new cars in our time.

    So good ride.

  • @gmfleetwood1996 this car in that time has more to offer than some if not all european cars
