  • Sorry I cant recall

  • Thanks for the video. Is the power plug attached to the motherboard?

  • im having trouble screwing the keyboard back on it did not look like you did. did anyone else?

  • did you screw it back together? by the battey?

  • Big Thx for video!

  • where can i get a new keyboard!?

  • Thank you! I just replaced the HDD in my 1015pn with an SSD and I wouldn't have been able to do it without this video. Just a few notes for others who may do this in the future. The tabs that you have to push on the sides of the battery slot are tough, don't be afraid to use force. The plate below the keyboard though is more fragile, it's tough but it does come off. Take your time!

    Once again, much thanks!

  • thanks for the video. I ended up spilling a small amount of coffee in the bag containing the laptop. The computer went totally dead. No lights or any signs of life when plugged in. I ended up taking it apart according to your video and found some coffee residue on the smaller of the two circuit boards (the one connected to the power switch). I took the board out and cleaned both sides with wetted qtips. It came back to life!

  • I was successful in replacing my HDD with an SSD - THANK YOU!!. However, it is important to NOT simply pry upwards when removing the mousepad section - pry out the bottom section while prying up the upper section. There are plastic tabs and pockets that will break if you only pry upwards. I used plastic tools designed for ipod dissassembly that don't mar the plastic.

  • Great job man, I disassembly my 1015PX with your step and successfully change WD2500BEVT 250GB HDD to 640GB!! O/S from Win 7 starter back to my OLD XP!!! Thanks a lot!!!

  • I have ordered a Vertex Plus Series 2.5" - 60 GB SATA 3.0 Gb/s for this 1015b computer, i will follow this guide to the letter and come back with results.

  • @gomerfa Ok, im done and everything works perfect. Just a few pointers though. I had some problems with getting the touchpad lid opened. This does indeed require brute force. If you have any tool that looks like a crowbar, you could rest it on the heatsink fan and use that as pressure and lift the lid up.This worked for me with no hassle. This guide was great but it is missing a few steps. But honestly i would not have this done without it. Thank you.

  • @gomerfa Also be sure NOT to use the 2-3 longer screws anywhere else because you can damage the motherboard. I had 3 longer screws on my 1015b.

  • @gomerfa Also had 3 longer screws on a 1015PEB

  • Hey, this helped a lot. Thanks!

  • This video is great, but putting an SSD into that EEE is not worth it. Barely any perfromance change

  • You saved me!

    thanks!

  • Much appreciated...thank you for taking the time to show us how! Folks, be careful with screws not to loose them in the small spaces, and you do have to use a little brute force to get the keyboard and plamrest/touchpad unattached.

  • Great video, thank you so much, took me about 1hour and i did it without breaking anything. Thanks!!!

  • I have searched all over for this information. I own 1015PEB and it come apart the same way. Thank you so much for posting the video.

I am currently running SSD all thanks to this video.

This video isn't for everying and you can thank ASUS for making it so damn difficult to do so.

Win 7 works really well on my netbook and due to SSD and 2gb mem upgrade

my netbook is snappy even on the battery saving mode !!

i can open word, pdf files like i would on a desk top !!!

    Thank You

  • The part where you say "PUSH TAP" does not work. The little tabs don't move. To be more precise they are 100% immovable. I've put enough pressure on them that I'm amazed I haven't broken something. I've been at this for hours. There is no way to remove the keyboard.

  • @druuzil It does, i've had the same stress you did, what i did is i started to pry the keyboard off until both sides were 2mm off and then i poped the tabs off.

  • @druuzil

It works but you really have to force them in. Be sure to first push the 3 tabs on top where the battery is.

    This even works on a 1011PX / R011PX

Only problem where I am stuck now is to remove the lower part, after removing the keyboard. The dummy SD Card didn't work for me, had to use a screw driver

  • Comment removed

  • @druuzil - Tap worked for me - they do move enough. Pushing may break the taps but tapping a screwdriver that is resting on the tab popped the loose with no damage.

  • yikes, looks friggin complex

  • Great vid. How did you get windows 7 on the SSD after? Or did you just scrap it all together.

  • @undeniablynerdy You can use a usb dongle to install it, microsoft has a iso-tool for it.

  • Hi. I just whacked my screen on a 1015pn. I'm assuming these cases are very similar. Any pointers on replacing the screen?

  • Do you think is possible install a 1Tera HDD 2,5"? Is 12,5mm height and not 9,5mm

  • Used this to successfully replace the hdd on my 1015PN, thanks!

  • Thanks for the video! You make it looks so easy! My screws won't come out to save my life... they are just getting stripped...

  • where have you bought the SSD, and what type is it

  • Thank You! Its very help for me! But its was not so easy :)

  • Thank you very much. It was helpful for me. Great work.

  • thanks for the video, i put an ssd in my asus 1015 PEM and this really helped
