  • 11 months and I keep coming back.

  • omg this song. and at 2:00. Thank you, Scott, for sharing from this deep in your soul. I so can relate but could never articulate.

  • this vid should have 1,302,640 views but im kinda happy it doesn't

  • Untitled #1 is da bomb(and yes i'm bringing "da bomb" back)!!!

  • WOW! I think my eyes get filled with tears every time I hear this.

  • am i losing!

  • this song is the most raw and honest song i have ever heard. incredible

  • I'm pretty sure what this song just did to me is illegal in 10 states. I LOVE It!!!

  • Whtas the song called? :(

  • check out Hunter Johnson "The white roads of heaven"

  • painful and beautiful....gives me chills.

  • Look how Scott lives this song -- it's wrenching. Especially with that reaction to "am I losing your trust? am I losing your love? ...She said no..." -- That breath he takes about 2 min in -- makes me stagger for breath too. Thank you guys. more than I can say.

  • Thank you Crackerfarm and Scott!

  • anyone getting any "Backward with Time" vibes? Every once in a while, I hear it. Beautiful song!

  • Crackerfarm videos keep me from getting my work done! Everyday I have to get on and get my dosage of The Avett Brothers... so good! Thanks @crackerfarm

  • Many seemed concerned of the toll that the recent success has taken on the personal lives of the band. Scott and his wife are expecting the birth of their second child. May God bless them all at this amazing time in their lives. Long live The Avetts and thank you all for changing my life!

  • This song and the way he sings it made me cry. . . just sayin'

  • Hey crackerfarm, If you listen very closely or with a good speaker system, you can hear some really muddy bass tones. If you put a low cut filter on the EQ of the audio it will cut that noise out but keep Scotts performance the same! Just being a nerdy audio engineer letting you know! Keep up the amazing videos!!!

  • I keep hitting repeat and i can't stop

  • Scott is my favorite Avett. <3

  • i love you scott.

  • I just stood up and applauded my laptop. Congrats another solid song. Picasso once said something to the effect: Art is the lie that enables us to realize the Truth. You fellas been lyin' this whole damn time, and many many folks all thank you for that.

  • We love you (all of you) - and the beards. Your fans (myself included) love you all for what you stand for and how passionate you are about it. Take care of yourselves and your families while on this wild ride! Remember: Salvation Song! My guiding light!

  • wow... so good, so real. thanks for posting this!

  • @keg5066 This song sounds like he is worried about losing his daughter's trust or love as he travels from town to town playing in these shows. His music seems to have taken a toll on his relationships with the ones close to him. I hope for his sake that he takes some time to himself. But in response to you, I don't see how the way he pains to say the word "yes" at the end is unconvincing to you.

  • It's amazing, so good!

  • @keg5066

"not too convincing" not to be rude but what the hell are you talking about? this is a very well written song, im not expert, but its pretty convincing and real to me.

  • @MOgrayback i'm happy that you found comfort in this song. The avetts have a charming way of achieving that through their music. It was just my opinion, people will always have different views on art.

    Best,

    keg5066

  • the replay button screamed at me to chill out

  • Avetts. And Bob. And Joe. If this song is autobiographical, find something else to do.

  • I'm loving these untitled songs. They're indescribable.

  • "if you love them, let them go". I would rather both these guys spend the time they need with the people they love. The Avetts are a huge influence on my music, i love them so much that I can let them go.

  • Reminds me of Scott saying he'd been listening to a lot of Townes and it made his songs depressing. But that sigh at 2:00 hurts.

  • That last line is a killer, it just nails the whole song x

  • that last line sounded so painful. i hope all turns out well for these brothers.

  • LONG LIVE THE AVETT BEARD!

  • "forever was never worth what she billed me"

  • Thank you.

  • Soooo sadly good haha amazing how they can change ones mood entirely

  • I really don't understand the amount of people saying this is his life he's singing about. Artists are constantly creating lyrics from all walks off life (not just their own), and as we all know songs about misery/break-up/struggles sell...and speak the most to the listeners because we all go through those things.

  • @irishfitzy13 I think it just stems from the fact, we know they sing about life experiences and thuth is a big part of who they are...... I don't know??????. I get that Artists are exactly that.... I just think everyone has this immediate reaction because of what they've said about who THEY are as artists.....????

  • I think there's another song hidden in the introspective silences between the lines. Autobiographical or not, it's vunerable and gorgeous.

  • If this is about his life, which I think it is, I want them to take a break from touring and from recording. Their families need them. We've had enough (in a good way) for a while. When I spoke to him at South Bend at the end of January, he said they're not touring as much this year. After hearing this song, I'm glad :)

  • @morgancayla15

This song puts everything in a different perspective. You're absolutely right, their families need them more than we do.

  • If this is on the next album, count me in for 10 copies!!!

  • oh my goodness me.

  • So beautiful. I really, really hope it's not autobiographical.

  • Goodness, I can't quit watching this. Such a beautiful and real and raw song. I can always count on The Avetts to put into words the things that I can't.

  • Beautiful

  • He shaved 3 days ago.

  • Ohhhh... It´s so beautiful

  • songs like these make me change the way i live, i love the avetts, i really do

  • Sounds like his wife is leaving him...i damn sure hope not. I can't stop listening to this...

  • "with this secret / but I'll keep it"

Sounds like a reference to pregnancy. With "but I'll keep it" having double meaning with both the secret and the child.

    what a song.

  • nothin' short of thankful for cracker farm.

  • If anyone out there thinks there is anything more honest than the Avett Brothers in music prove it.

  • This is sad..

  • perfectly beautiful and sad.

  • Gorgeous. Really hits hard. No one can write music as personal as these guys.

  • Perfect.

  • Beautiful song by a beautiful person. I pray that everything is okay with his wife and family.

  • Who votes for a third gleam!!!!???

  • @stevenc40 The Gleams are always my favorite songs, so this is definitely a Gleam 3 song.

  • this is such a heartbreakingly beautiful song. i can't help but think that there's going to be a gleam 3 soon with these last two untitled posts.

  • Very nice mikey. pretty sad song.

  • I didn't expect THAT ending. Wow. To me sounds like a Seth song though. At least the music part. Such honest lyrics.

And them boys sure grow their beards fast...

  • Very touching! These guys have a way of getting to you with their amazing music!

  • That's really sad. :<

  • what kind og guitar do you think that is? a martin or a guild or something really cool i don't even know about?

  • @cpanetta87 I think it's a Martin 000-18, but I could be wrong.

  • Scott needs to put out solo work like Seth has.

  • Beautiful as usual.... Good job Mike! Good job Scotty!

  • Gut punched.

  • How does he take exactly what I'm feeling and put it into words better than I could ever do?

  • Heartbreaking ending. Superb songwriting, AGAIN. This is why I check Crackerfarm updates daily. Thank you!

  • It's like Scott took the words right out of my mouth. Man.

  • Love it!

  • I want the Vinyl box set, too bad there isnt one YET!

  • Gotta say Cracker you have the best job one could possibly have, bet it's more fun times than work, LUCKY!

Nice work by the way! Keep'm coming

  • Amazing song, Scott's songs seem to have been taking a darker turn, I hope my boys find time in their incredibly hectic and devoted schedule to their fans for some time for themselves.

  • @pbarnes20

How could you not take a dark turn? this world is becoming so trivial... its a joke.

And anyone that spent 6 months or whatever Scott spent listening only to Townes Van Zandt will always need that darker side of things in their life...

  • @pbarnes20 I hope so too. Don't won't the guys to get overworked. Its wild how we feel so close to these guys, but don't even know them.

  • My heart just broke.

  • Heartbreaking

  • The Beard Is Back!!!

  • @1mshores No offense but there's a lot more going on in this video than a beard.

  • @habertree oh no way, thanks for clearing that up, I totally forgot to press play and listen to my favorite band of all time, you must be one of those people that like to say no offense so you get a free pass to offend someone.

  • @1mshores sorry about that, (and i mean it, no real offense meant), i just don't like when the comments on music turns into a style blog.

  • wow...yea, im crying ......i love it

  • part of gleam 3?

  • And the FARM delivers again! Thank you!

  • This is beautiful.

  • once again, thanks to the band and crackerfarm for sharing these videos.

  • beautiful video. love the simple spotlight. the song is incredible.

  • juste sublime!

  • Whoa. That ending.

  • Sick new intro.

    Wonderful video as usual.
