I'm sure the Minds will be back to their very best again but this was a very poor night by their high standaeds. OMD were magnificent and were on top form. Surely the Minds could also have played more material from the amazing "Grafitti Soul" album. Every band has an off night but where do they go from here?
looking at this video just gives me goosebumps u can just tell from the energy or the vibe of the video its goona b an amazing concert.ppl should stop moaning about the problems an just enjoy the music ther arnt many better live bands around than sm,.i see ppl been saying on omd videos comments that simple minds were crap compared to omd an jim kerr had lost it which is utter bullshit imo.the uk tour has been great i really hope the do a big stadium soon tht wud b cool .anyway cool vid buddy
@Gueski4 Cheers Gueski, i only seen the last 2 omd songs as we were late arriving. They seemed pretty good but i woudnt put them in the same league as the minds.

Agree totally Feeno. Seems to have been a few moans about the gig, band flat and unenergetic, poor sound , crowd not happy etc. Absoloute bullshit. A 20 min. delay due to a technical glitch which isnt the bands fault, fukin end of the world stuff eh, absoloute no value for money for my 40 QUID ticket money now eh. I dont wish to offend anyone but people moaning about the gig the other night r the type that complain aboot everything. We had a great night and so did everyone around us. Cheers mate

Simple Minds were absolutely abysmal at the secc on Dec 11th. I've seen the Minds many,many times live since 1982 and they've always been magnificent, I've always been a huge fan but on Friday it was embarrasing, the sound quality was very poor, Jim Kerr forgetting lyrics, their sound engineers rancid inability and concert being shut down for 25 minutes etc,etc. Indeed they were so poor Jim Kerr admitted on Dec 14th- Quote " WE WERE GARBAGE AND IF I'M HONEST WE WON'T BE ASKED BACK" Unquote.
Your entitled to your opinion of course and indeed there was sound problems etc but i dont think you can blame the band for that eh. Also i would agree that wee mij kerrs voice is starting to go a bit but he is 50 after all. Only been watching the minds since 2000 so unlike yourself ive prob missed the best of them but each gig ive been to ive really enjoyed. P.S i didnt see 1 glum face in the crowd the other night.
Agreed. Actually this was the one of the worst gigs ive ever been to. The thing that got me though was Jim saying ' i know you are tired but we still love you Glasgow' when he realised the gig was as flat as a witches tit. Also the arrogance that the band had to keep everyone waiting for 25 mins then think it was ok to do encores instead off just playing the hits full on till the end. As a point the musicianship near the end was so sloppy it was quite insulting (the keyboard guy on neon lights).

Have to say where i was in the crowd the atmosphere was in no way "flat" and as for the gig finishing 25 mins late what is the big deal with that? We missed the last train but we just jumped in a taxi, people seem to want to moan about the slightest thing these days. Just my opinion.
There is not much better in life than the intro at a Simple Minds concert! The anticipation of knowing that the next 2 hours are going to be the best of your year! What a great concert this was. Can't wait for their return to UK.
Cheers prenton, think the theme for great citys/sanctify intro is pretty wicked. Glad you enjoyed the gig me and the mrs had a blast , even more than the edinburgh castle gig but then again we did manage to smuggle some vodi in and also sank a few beers so we were a tad over refreshed.
