Nice! I am planning on making my own Djembe drum and I wasnt sure if I was going to make the shell from a log or boards. This way is more solid, traditional, and would be in some ways easier for me. Thanks!

my friend....djembe is from GUINEE AND THE wood you use in Ghana is like a sponge ,so is not good at all.

it looks like ash, though not positive. it has the same bark and is the right colour though
