Ei Mikko hajoittanut autonsa tuulilasia kuten selostaja sen ilmoittaa vaan kuvaustiimi änki kameran jossain varren päässä auton eteen hajoittaen Mikon tuulilasin. Tää pisti verenpaineen nousemaan vuosi sitten. Mietippä jos sama olisi tehty sitikka kuskille...olisi noussut hirvee haloo kisan sabotointi yrityksestä? Hieno kaato eikä tämä siihen vaikuttanut mutta jotain rajaa "hienoilla" kuvauskulmilla.

@kakulivakuli Välillä tuntui Hirvosen Ford-aikoina että FIA suosi Loebia ja Citroeniä.. Jossain rallissa Loeb oikaisi jonkun liikenneympyrän - ei mitään aikasakkoa tai rangaistusta.. Kun taas joskus vuonna 2006 sai Grönholm ja Hirvonen kahren minuutin aikasakot niinkin isosta rikkeestä että Fordien sivulasit oli liian ohuet.. tai sitten 2006 Nesterallissa Juho Hänninen ja muutama muu hylättiin kisasta vääränlaisten alusasujen käytön takia..

I'd be willing to be the entire chassis is scrapped after a crash like that. Not only would the unibody extremities be annihilated, the cage would likely endure a good amount of deformation. At that level of motorsport, the car is done.

@MrTast no, your wrong, the ENITRE chassis, rollcage and overall construction is officially yard art. It served its purpose when the driver and co-driver walked out of it. By WRC standards of racing, or pretty much any racing standard, its beyond mirrors and door replacement. If you were to look at it up close you would see that it is completely and utterly twisted and destroyed. But it did its job unbelievably well. Not trying to be insulting, but its toast.

I have a very controversial theory on how this crash happened. Could it be that he just fucked up !? See how he tries to correct the car in mid-air by taking off the almost correct opposite lock he had on ? Not used to going at it at "Maximum Attack" he was surprised at the speed and resulting flight over this crest. Gróholm,Mákinen,Rovanpéra,Alén­,Vatanen etc. all drove well outside their comfort zone when in Finland and thereby knew how to "fly" with their car when in a trance-like state...

@Highwaystar, not sure if you noticed the left front wheel missing... As for if the car is a write off, it depends how bad the cage is bent, if it sits in the jig ok when they get it apart or if its not bent too bad, everything else bolts on. The front wheels didnt look to be at an odd angle on landing so I would guess something broke and turned the car left. Not a small accident, but not the worst either. They'll be ok.

@MrEvoPanzar - Mikko'swindscreen had been replaced before the crash, so in other words he could see out perfectly fine.

Jarno said something was wrong with the steering after landing and couldn't steer properly and were doing 150/160 at the time.

@pyrogang4 The 'OK' sign is there to indicate both the driver and co-driver are out of the car and are unharmed from the incident. Whenever there's a huge accident like this they'll stop the stage if the driver/co-driver isn't ok (for example, Francois Duval's crash at Japan 2008, when co-driver Partick Pivato broke his leg).

that's not the worst. they were very lucky not to hit a tree. this was just a roll, a violent one, but a roll that doesn't break the cage.

@drkmid : No, its no soo badly crashed. Engine was running until last roll.

And it not take any hard impact. Do you remember Rovanpera crash with 307 wrc in this event few years back? It was similar. But because the suspention was OK, he can continue. Soo, complete suspention change, little bit work with hammer, etc,... And its ready to rock. Assuming bodywork is okay in the places, where suspention is attached. - If this is okay, i see no problem and i bet its okay

Look at 0:02 when he smashes into the camera, and then look at 0:08 when his front window is broken. This could be why he went of the road because he were not focused on his driving. Maybe he can't see out.
