Hey Jack - thanks. It's great to know I can link external public calendars on my phone, but how do I do it?? I can't find out. Many other of the Android tipas videos whos you whatm, then HOW.

@steffen54321 Well they are all reading off a screen 2 meters in front of their face obviously look at their eye movements, that is really bad. You should know what you are talking about, not ever read off something.

Is that something you can back up? It was my thought they were "real", had it rehearsed probably... but not that they were reading text. They seem genuine. About their eyes, I would attribute that to nervousness. I wouldn't be comfortable staring into a camera like that.

I'm not an Android fanboy. I don't particularly care for it, have urgent want for it, and have never had/used/tried Android.

Why would you care to make something up? Maybe YOU'RE the fanboy, trying to smear Android, I don't know. I'm not saying you made anything up, but you're ARE guessing if you can't somehow prove that they are reading a text. I was just curious if you knew.

i simply don't like the calendar on android. i used iphone. i love the iphone calendar. except the calendar, everything is fine on my android. i use nexus one.

Come on, getting the URL or phone number as links have been around for ages. Public calendars is a great feature, though.

I was really expecting an in-depth look at the basic level of PIM functionality. Will there be an appointment and to-do list display for the home screen like in PalmOS?

Actually, I'm not reading a script. I just don't have practice holding my gaze into the camera while thinking of something to say. But it was a real blast being part of the Android project.

there a mostly working version that mostly works on my phone. and i have been playing with it. i love it. and cant wait for this to develop more. i love the whole idea. im just glad theres finaly an alternative to winmo. im soooo sick of winmo. and apple has been ticking me off

NLP (neuro-linguisic programming) would interpret that visual cue (eye movement) is that you're having an internal dialog by looking down and to the left. :-) That's not unusual among software developers that need to have a lot of internal dialogs in their everyday lives. I sympathize. BTW, nice video! I like the intent model in Android - good concept for doing mash-ups of any kind.

Perhaps you can help me. I am trying to figure out if it is indeed the case that an unlocked G1 does not allow you to access your Google account (I would not get it if that was the case). I live in Alaska (no T-mobile) and would like use an Android phone but I really do not want to wait another 4-5 months for another carrier to come out with another Android phone (and even then possibly not even like the design).

Your gmail account will work just fine with a developer phone. You can access your gmail, your calendar, and your contacts just like on a G1 that you buy from T-mobile.

Thanks SO much! But does the marketplace work if your not on T-Mobile and if it does how do they bill you?

Market uses your Google Checkout account (linked to your gmail account) for billing. Some apps may not be available for developer phones if the developer chooses not to make them available.
