You get limited news. Every other summer, some community is marching against violence. Last year (2008--or 2007), I lost count--Newark, Queens, Brooklyn Harlem.

People everywhere have taken a stand against drug-dealing, prostitution, rape, drunk driving, muggings--but you don't see it in the newspapers.

I've seen one too many dirty cops and almost as many dirty crooks. I hate both. I also hate the fact that the cops kill the innocent instead of the criminals. And I don't know why.

Protests in America seem to attract fringe people; public relations nightmares... It seems like more moderate people tend to be movers and shakers in other countries.. The fact is, Americans have gown dormant, fat and happy. Economic hardship is usually the key to bringing out the more moderate Americans.
