I hate it when people say bands sell out. It's like there are a set of rules in punk that bands aren't allowed to break unless the punk police set out on them. I thought the point of punk was that there were no rules? Pathetic. Against Me! ♥
were not punishing them just stating that they were a band like no other who didnt give a fuck and then they jioned a new label which would have been find but the music has changed and is getting closer to the same pop punk shit you hear on the radio everyday
have you checked out the Against Me! Kyte Channel yet? It has tons of exclusive content that they themselves put up offstage, backstage, and wherever else If you wanna see what these guys are up to all the time. myspace dot com slash againstmefanatics
its not the fact that it might not be good. im not sayin that, it's that they turned their backs on the ideals that they supported for so so long and they said they wouldn't change, but they did and they sold out to t\major corporations. i really think theyr a great band, its just they've lost sight of what mattered
id be careful...considering music corporations negative? they do nothing like those corporations that are part of the WTO. all music corporations do is help bands record and promote their music.
they used to believe in their message until they said screw the old fans and abandoned their ideals. Still like they're old stuff but won't listen to any new songs
i wont listen to the new stuff because they put what they believed in for so long behind them, even if the new shits good. its not what they belive in. they were already very sucessful on fat wreck chords
dude, as you get older your view on the world changes. They may still believe in that stuff but maybe not as strong as they did then. tom gabel was still basicly a kid in 2003 and earlyer...
So everything before New Wave or Searching For A Former Clarity? Because honestly, that's pretty stupid to not even give the new stuff a chance because you don't like how they act.
Okay, let me explain. Why is it a big deal whether the 2-inch space in the bottom left of the CD case says FAT or SIRE or No Idea or whatever. It's only a big deal because certain loudmouth people make it that way. Honestly, listening to a song, do you say, "Well I like it, but what label are they on?" It doesn't matter. Seriously, this kind of thing is getting on the nerves of myself and everyone else who still remains at least partially sane.
Fuck all of you and you're fucking 'sellout' bullshit. you guys are so far gone. jesus its their JOB to make music. They make money for what they do. Therefore...its their job. and you know what? they have a good fucking time doing what they do, people love them, and they're getting paid. shit they're living the life :) Now go off and try to think about more important things. Like...global warmning. haha.
OKAY, I KNOW. I know they're sellouts. For the most part, I still like their music. When we've met them, they've been nice dudes. Yes, it's ridiculous. Yes, it's going to their heads and their careers. But most of their music is still pretty good, and...well, at least we have that. But come on, make that comment on Punknews, not my video. I hadn't said a single thing, I just posted a clip from a show.

I don't think that sold out. I think they just changed. That's just what I think when I hear "Teenage Anarchist," anyway.

why do we "punish" artists for changing? maybe the direction they are going in now is the one they feel expresses them the best.
dont knock it til you try it, bro.

the whole problem with them selling out is that it completely goes against the band's beliefs, at least their old beliefs.
