Word up! You west coast jockers better pay homage to the NYC! You guy's no nothing about the train era when Graff was popping! Real cats racking rustos , red devils, wet look, krylons! Racking your inks and your fat caps! Man, the game is watered down with a by a fire hydrant nowadays ! I ain't got nothing against the west coast like that, but you better recognize the real! 1
@lcovati I'm from the west coast, northern California, and I agree with what you say, ya dig? New York is where it began, generated and created this art form that really couldn not have been and never was done in California or other states.
@ninjagaryk1 Before 83' Min was in reform school. Not boarding school (his father disowned him and he ended up on the streets with a bad drug habit. But, he is clean now and getting on his feet.. After 83' he was running wild, We ran the streets together for many years and we were both in prison together.
@rtti88 Min is alive and well. In fact I just spoke with him today. He was having some hard times and some health problems. But, it seems he is recovering, I have been friends with him for about 30 years and we went through alot together. I'm just glad we both made it through the drug street and prison years from the mid 80's and up. He is still doing his thing, but on a smaller scale.
man I remember that spot, me and my boys used to go down there to piece. It was right under the west side highway not far north from the trump towers today. wonder if any of my pieces are still down in the tunnel. Sometimes we would walk all the way thru the tunnel up to harlem. It was creepy as hell in there, but peices were everywhere.
Zephyr says on the Style Wars documentary that he'll stop graffiti when it is no longer fun, the thing is, there were 10, 000 kids or so before he ever came around that was doing this. I, myself, have managed to hit up my name and I can tell you, it's easy to understand why kids do it: It's addictive.
fresh old school video.......the old school graffiti was way better with the style......but now everyone got the same throw up style and everything now these days
this is 72nd street freedom tunnel. trump towers are there now. in 92' we walked the whole shit up to 122nd street. we saw at least 500 homeless people in there back then. now there are many more down there. there is a hatch near 79th street in riverside park they use. thats why there are mad homeless people around 79th and broadway. fresh footage...
@DjChoci this footage is from 72nd street under the west side highway which is the entrance to freedom tunnel. learn your history so you don't make a fool of yourself...
@MrUncomfortableTruth ahh,i see you rest my case in point for me,it's the "entrance" to the freedom tunnel.I frequented and painted the freedom tunnel in 85 with mare, kel and searoc.that was why I was confused by you naming it the tunnel. So far from making a fool of myself I suggest you go easy on inferring that someone you have never met maybe a fool in case you sound like one yourself......peace.....choci roc...rocstars,london..
@DjChoci fuck you and fuck london u punk. i don't care how old school u think u are. if my crew caught you in that tunnel we would have left you there dead. and i know mare and kel too. they are brothers, and they know about me and my crew. so byte me faggot...
@MrUncomfortableTruth oh dear, now, not only have you shown yourself up to be a fool, but an angry fool without an ounce of intelligence....where does it say i think I am ol skool,........erm knowhere......your anger is hilarious, enjoy your anger, try and use it constructively rather than showing the rest of youtube how angry and ignorant you are.........I do expect a REALLY angry response...peace,rocstars(who your familiar with of course)london.....
@DjChoci I know Randy and Carl (Kel & Mare). I used to hang out with Kel when he was living on 94st in Manhattan. As for Sea (Joey), he lived on 93st on the 19th floor, we were partners for awhile. I know all the dudes from my hood. Poke, Epic, Doze, and everyone else (RSC). I grew up on 97st and Amsterdam. My real crew was The Vandals, Hep7, OE and Sam. We used to smoke that Dust erveryday in the early 80's. I'm still in contact with Min1.
t.kids crew wasent call the vandal squad man it was the vamp squad t.kid left after a few bad incidents with the other members. he then went on to form the famous tnb the nasy boys.
pimp video put 2gether. tru legends right here. was lucky enough 2 meet revolt @ a comic book signing last summer and he had some great stories of transit. painted with zephyer a couple years back when he came 2 chicago. real cool people. love that tru style they have. kym tnd saw xmen badinc...
RTW was good. But the real wildstyle crews were: The Death Squad (NOC 167, Part1, Kool 131, The Vandal Squad (T-KId), CIA (Dondi, Duro & others). RTW along with United Artist came later.
LOL. This is some funny shit. Andy (Zeph) Revolt, & MIN 1 (NE - RTW) doing a piece. I think Zephyr is best out of the three of them. Zephyr's best trains were Passion & Heroin Kill, also his Heist trains.
I remember me and my man Buc used to go down to those tunnels and goo crazy. Back in 86. It used to be really seedy with bums and ish living inside the tunnel. Now its all fixed up and baracaded. there is a park down there now.
wow! back in the days you had to make your own caps there pieces were not correctly fill in it had spots all over but mad respect tho i like the music it flows!
YOOOO!! The real kings that influenced me was ("NE" aka "MINONE","REVOLT","ZEPHYR" and we can't forget "SAGO" the fresh kids started with a brake dance crew in Coney Island by "BANDIT". I miss dose days...
Does anyone know if the "Fresh Kids" crew that MIN throws up in this vid, was also a b-boy (breakdance) crew, from Brooklyn, which still exists today? The President of the crew is KWIKSTEP, who is also part of Full Circle, and used to be in the Rock Steady Crew, back in the mid-90s.
Yes they were in Coney Island,Neptune Ave.I beleave, correct me if im wrong, the leaders name was "Bandit"the first time i met them was when they had a B-boy contest in the mid 80's at "United Skates" in Bklyn,Bandit won with a move that they called the 1990 hand glide...Grate memorys! "FLESHONE"
this was an awesome video. Back when graff king meant you were style master, and not some hot head with marshmellow throwies covering pieces to claim turf.

Where are these kids now? With any luck they applied what they learned as street vandals and are in jail.

@testermanish do you think that they are in jail?

@testermanish Actually one of them designed a number of logos. Some of which you've most likely spent money on.
