I pretty much lost my mind when Dave Navarro took the stage that night. Add that to the fact that he did BECOMING and ME, I'M NOT - I was a happy guy.
this song is amazing and I had the opportunity to see them live on their last visit to Chicago. Dave Navarro playing with NIN live is icing on top....
I love all the glitchy electronic sounds on Year Zero, I love how it bludgeons you with distortion and squealing sounds at moments, like on Vessel and My Violent Heart. It really changed the way I thought about music.
@ilikeyourbass33 Trent Reznor completely changed the way i thought of music. I used 2 h8 synthesizers and NIN showed me that in the hands of a real musician anything can b used as an instrument.
@ilikeyourbass33 True. He did the same with TDS (in a different style of course) but this just took it to a whole new level. NIN is the greatest (music) artist to ever exist.
Everyone has an opinion. I know one we all have and that's Trent Reznor's one of the greatest musicians of all time. ; ) I have respect for anyone who thoroughly listens to Trent's music and what they can learn from it. Psychologically and emotionally however you have to be in a happy place to understand it's depth.
Okay, I'm sorry. I have an opinion. "The Fragile" and "Ghosts I-IV" are musically Reznor's most diverse, wide-ranged aesthetically significant work to date. And I consider "Year Zero" a dissapointment even though there are some excellent songs off it some superior to those from "With Teeth" yet not as good as that album. Forgive me though I have an opinion. : /
I agree...Musically, it's my least favourite album. Reznor's at his best when he's using exotic instruments coupled with dark soundscapes, whilst writing personnel lyrics. I can't relate to year zero...It's too cold and austere musically, and lyrically, it's about as thought provoking as a 14 year olds political blog lol
Year Zero, disappointment? Personally I believe Trent's works have progressively gotten better with each installment. Broken was better than PHM, TDS was better than Broken, The Fragile was better than TDS, With Teeth was better than The Fragile, Year Zero was better than With Teeth and I haven't really listened to Ghosts or The Slip so I can't give a fair opinion on them. But as far as the rest, that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
The Fragile had awesome songs, but as far as musically progressing, With Teeth was better than The Fragile. You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. It just so happens to be that your opinion is wrong. And thanks to Stephen T. Colbert, I can openly say that and BE RIGHT!
Whoever gave you a thumbs down needs to watch The Colbert Report. That being said, your opinion is wrong. All of NIN is much, much better than the average popular band but as great as the newer albums are, it's harder to get emotionally connected with them, which IMO makes them less great. But still damn good.
I love Nine Inch Nails and I found out that I have a new reason to love Trent, 'cause all of his fans are realitively smart people. Like yourself for example. You were able to give an inteligable argument without being insulting. And your argument even holds water. I can definitely see where you're coming from. ALMOST! It was easy for me to get emotionally connected with YZ. But bands like Nirvana and Slipknot, I voice my opinion, I get my head chopped off. Thanks for being smart.
Thx for uploading this! Trent seems to be having so much fun at this gig, I would hate to think we were never going to see him perform music again in some capacity!
The quality on these videos from synthetikz is awesome. I caught the voice encoder thrown out during this song. Fuck Yea. it still works!!!! I plan on framing it

Even though I considered "Year Zero" in my opinion to be a dissapointment, I love alot of tracks off it and I think "The Warning" is the best song off it.
@synthetikz Yup, you can't expect Trent to produce nothing but Downward Spiral material. He is off drugs and alcohol. Happier and definitely not on the verge of death....

@synthetikz Anybody that considers Year Zero one of NIN's best album doesn't know the real NIN and real music. I'm with JesusCristo2002. Year Zero is shit in fact 99% of today's rock music is shit. Can't you see that already?? Everything is packaged including NIN! You are either blind, have bad taste in music or you're a sheep like 95% of most American music consumers. Reality is NIN and 99% of today's rock is dead. Like what Marilyn Manson says in one of his older songs. "Rock Is Dead"
Trent is disclosing E.T. presence listen carefully. Namaste. Love from the Pleiades.

I think his style is good with all of the Electronic sounds...
And who know HTDA might have another album after the EP...
But he should do a song with corgan and keenan...I know he did the music for potions...that was gud too.....
