ButterNuttsAA our pool pump has started making a noise so loud I know it is bothering our neighbors. My husband told me to turn it off for a couple of hours the turn it back on so the water can circulate. We need help!! We have a 3' - 12' inground swimming pool that our friends & family can not do without! Please HELP!!
@tammys1999 turn the pump off at power, remove filter basket from pump and feel inside the hole for anything caught in the impeller (like a pebble) that may have gotten past the basket.. It should be free from forein things, it shouldnt feel wobbly, and you should be able to spin it with your fingers. another thing to check is the motor cover on the end of the pump (the other end) as they can sometimes be rubbing on the fan blades inside. If it all seems ok then your bearings are likely worn.
I had a pump that make like this noise and Found the bearing was bad, so I replaced it and works great and quiet. See what happen is when the bearing get old or wore out, the water can leaks into bearing and rust it out to make lots of noise.
I fixed it , the thing in front of the impellar went bad. I cant remember the name of it right now, .. Got a groove in it like it wore away. The part i found hardest when fixing the pump was not having plumbers grease. When I pulled the motor it was about impossible to get it back in without it. it was like a 4 dollar part that fixed it

Noice by plastic . look at the impeller maybe touching the plastic filter. If not, replace the bearings.

I would say impeller. I have a bad bearing on mine and it sounds much different.

What happens when you open all the valves in front of the pump
